Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk Cruzer Micro 4 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive SDCZ6-4096-A11Customer Review: Storing Your Life Away Summary: 4 Stars
These days, when it comes down to computers, everybody is looking for a simple and easy way to store all your files on one format. While we've stored them onto floppy disks and CD-ROM disks, there are few ways that we can bring them on the go that can be as simple. This Sandisk Flash Drive handles very well, by allowing you to bring your biggest files that are more easily secured here, inc;luding music and media downloads from MP3 music files, to work projects that take up much more space that youn use for Excel and Movies and videos from Itunes. It handles the job very well, and is sturdy to tag along, at an affordable price. While there have been others that I've tried, SanDisk does the job very well, and I absolutely recommend this for your home computer or your laptop a whole lot.

With the on the go life style the U3 launchpad was made for those needing a quick way to boot up the files they needed from any windows computer. However in most cases the software is slow and I needed this for storage more than to tote around programs, which I now do from [...]. All I had to do to remove U3 from the drive was to go to the sandisk website, look for the uninstall app, plug my drive in and presto it was gone. Took less than a min as it has done for most of us who found this out. The fact that it doesn't have a cap to lose and it's space saving design also appealed to me. There was even a little ring for me to put it on my lanyard. Good amount of storage space for my art file formats and other files that I need through out the day. I gave it 5 stars for being friendly enough to get rid of U3 and do what it was made to do. Store things.
Customer Review: Works as Advertised Summary: 5 Stars
The flash drive arrived on time, and it has been working well so far. I'm impressed by the read/write speed it can achieve: when handling large files, Windows 7 indicates that it can read at about 22MB/s and write at about 7MB/s.
The U3 embedded into the flash drive is more annoying than useful to me. After some googling, I successfully removed U3 permanently from the flash drive. However, to be fair, I don't think U3 will do you any harm if you choose not to launch any U3 software when the U3 manager is run.
Some websites say that once you remove U3, there is no way to put it back. However, I found an article (by googling) saying that SanDisk actually provides a utility to re-install U3 into the flash drive. I have not tried the utility because U3 is useless to me, but someone may find the utility useful.

this product is great and i can definitely rely on it! and good timing for it too now that my computer completely crashed and now i have to reformat it. i'm so glad i had this in time so now all of my work and pictures are safe.
i love how it retracts so i don't have to worry about losing a cap to protect it and it glows an orange-ish color when it's plugged in, the light turns off when it's not connected and it blinks a few times while it's saving or being busy. there is some program on it called U3, but i immediately got rid of it because i knew it wouldn't benefit me in any way and was taking a little space. so now it is just a storage device for all of my pictures and school work.
i don't think i will be able to survive college without it! but be warned, it's not a full 4 gig! it's more like 3.73 gigs!
Customer Review: Does what it's suppose to and more. Summary: 5 Stars
Bought this after my S*ny micro-vault died in less than a year of gently use. Got it, plugged it in and saw proprietary software....mmmm, yah/.
Well, the proprietary is actually pretty use full. It's security software that password protects your drive and keeps folders synced, which is kinda cool. It only uses about 20mb's of space, and doesn't install on your computer.
But, if you don't like that stuff you can always format.
The drive itself is nice, compact, and sturdy feeling. The clear (or white) part on the top is actually a light, it flashes quickly when it's being accessed, slowly when it's safe to remove, which is a nice touch.
The drive preforms like a champ. Read and Write and very, very fast ( around 42 mb/s).
I'd definitely buy another one or four for the price. :)
