Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk Cruzer Micro 16 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive SDCZ6-016G-A11Customer Review: 16 GB/U3 - SanDisk Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased the SanDisk for the U3 software application to be run on the flash drive... After testing or playing with the flash drive and the U3 software... i would have to give it 5 stars... As long as you're going from PC to PC you can carry all of your applications around on the flash drive...
Depending on your preference... Portable Apps. can be run on any flash drive... While U3 is SanDisk specific... Both applications work great if you would like to have the ability to carry your documents and applications around only on a single flash drive... Yes, you can remove the U3 application and reinstall if you would like... Pending on the application the U3 software will use upto 1 GB.. So, go bigger than 1 GB if you would like to test/play with the U3 software.......
Rate it a must buy for the 16 GB with the U3 software addition...
Customer Review: So far so good! Summary: 5 Stars
My computer was fried during a storm, but thankfully the hard drive was savable and put into another PC. I bought a couple of these flash drives to back up my video, music and picture files, and so that I would be able to access these files on my main PC.
I'm not understanding the complaints about the transfer rates being extremely slow. Last night I nearly filled one drive with all my yoga videos and workouts. It probably took about 10-15 minutes to copy 10.1 GB. Is that really something to complain about? Go check your email, get a coffee, take a shower. I guess, for me, even if it had taken longer, what I was most concerned about was being able to access and play these videos on my main PC --or, for that matter, any computer-- directly from the flash drive without any lag. And I'm happy to report the videos are playing just fine.
Customer Review: As I Expected Summary: 4 Stars
The flash drive was as I expected. Sometimes I step back and recall that the first computer that I had at work had a 20 MB hard drive and now something as small as this flash drive is 400 times the storage capacity as that first hard drive.
The flash drive came with its own security so you can set a password to restrict access. There is a rather large light that flashes to let you know when the drive is being accessed. It also has its own eject system which is the preferred way to remove the drive from a running computer. The USB connector is hidden inside the unit until you choose to extend it.
I only gave it 4 stars because in general the USB flash drives seem to take longer to transfer files than I would like. That is not specifically an indictment on this model ... just on USB flash drives in general.
Customer Review: The light is RIDICULOUS. Summary: 1 Stars
I went to plug this in for the first time and on comes this big, flashing/pulsing orange light. It seems to be an LED but it lights up the whole "slider" area, which is translucent. It's brighter than you'd think, and it's REALLY annoying. USB keys are generally used in visible ports, and my laptop's USB ports are along the sides so it's always flashing in my field of vision. Best yet, there is no way to disable it. None. You have to paint or tape over it, which will probably be ugly, marginally effective, and interfere with the operation of the slider. This is garbage!!! Either make the light unobtrusive or provide a way to disable it!
I was upgrading from an older Cruzer that had a small, muted green light on the end that didn't bother me in the least. Now I've got this flashlight shining morse code in my eyes...
Customer Review: Small Product, Big Value! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought both the 16gb and 4gb version of these for use around the office and when traveling to move files between multiple computers and devices. It's amazes me that a device so small can hold so much data and I found the product to work flawlessly with both Windows and Mac Operating Systems without the need to format them - which is great considering SanDisk used to have issues with Mac OS X. The only problem I have with these drives, which is minor, is that on my 15" MacBook Pro, the drive itself is too wide which means I have to unplug other things in the ports surrounding the USB slot in order for this drive to fit. I'm not sure whether it's an issue with SanDisk or that Apple put the ports to close together but in any case, it's a small annoyance that I don't feel warrants overall points being taken away.
