Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk Cruzer Micro 16 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive SDCZ6-016G-A11Customer Review: I can't believe people are complaining about this Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this Flash Drive during Amazons black Friday sale for the listed $32, which is an incredibly good deal for a SIXTEEN GIG flash drive. I came back to check my order and I find that the price went down a little, but then I read this story about the $0.01 glitch and can't believe what I'm reading.
People are COMPLAINING about what they should have obviously realized was too good to be true.
An item in a store that usually costs $100 is not going to be sold anywhere LEGITIMATELY onilne for one cent. And we as consumers know this.
Someone screwed up with the price, or it got hacked -which happens from time to time- but I imagine there isn't a single person who clicked on the "one cent" deal who is out any money right now because of it.
And people are saying this "ruined their holiday shopping experience"?
The age old mantra that never changes:
If it looks too good to be true IT IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.
Still, $32 for 16 gigs is pretty sweet, I think.
Customer Review: Solid unit but too slow for Readyboost Summary: 4 Stars
If you want fast, buy the 8Gb micro Cruzer. This 16gb drive is NOT fast. I have both, and bought the 16gb because I love the no-cap-to-lose, and I love the 8Gb speed. But the 16bg is so much slower that Vista reports that Readyboost cannot use it. (The 8 gb said "Vista Readyboost" on the package, and I assumed that naturally the 16 gb would be fine. It's not, and doesn't say it is on the package.) After Vista tested it, it stated that it was too slow to be used by Readyboost, then somehow marked the unit so that the option to use Readyboost no longer appears when I plug it in.
The light on it is bright, as users have noted. But it depends on your bios and OS whether it flashes/strobes or just stays on bright. On my Vista Home Pro Dell Inspiron it's on solid, so it's not annoying. One workaround for this is to plug it into a rear USB port instead of the front or side - if you have that option available.
If you want to use U3 on Vista, you may have to download a newer Vista-compatible version.
Customer Review: SanDisk makes great products! Summary: 5 Stars
This thing works as advertised. I've tried this on a few different Windows machines (XP Home, XP Pro, and Vista) and all of them detected the USB Memory stick without any issues. I really like that there is no cap to lose, which makes it easy to carry on your key chain with the included mini keychain loop.
I've used SanDisk for many different products (SD card, microSD cards, MMC, and Compact Flash memory) and they've all been great. I haven't had any issues with SanDisk products failing and I've used them for over a decade now. In the professional photography world, these seem to be the brand that photographers trust with their images.
I also like the fact that SanDisk is an American company. So you don't have to worry about an overseas company making junk products and not standing behind them.
Whenever I look to buy something related to memory/storage, I find out if SanDisk makes it. If they do, then there's no question. SanDisk all the way.
Customer Review: I hate this flash drive... Summary: 1 Stars
Where do I start....this thing has been a pain in the butt after the first 5 minutes of opening it. The U3 software is so annoying and not compatible on my laptop and there is only 14.7GB on it, not 16GB. I kept getting an error and I couldn't even access the device(I/O Device Error). So then I went to my other computer and I could get into the device but I couldn't open any files. So I removed the U3 after a bit and reformatted the drive so It was back to normal. It worked for like 10 minutes and it started doing the same thing over. So now I'm going to reformat the drive(so my files get erased) and send it back.
And...[I did remove the U3, all my files still turned corrupt a few days after i removed it and I had to reformat it every time(clearing the drive)]
Don't buy SanDisk... read the reviews online like I should have before I bought it.
I'm going with the 16GB Sony Micro vault flashdrive... I have the 2GB and it works like a charm.
Customer Review: How greedy can you get? Summary: 5 Stars
This is an excellent product. It always works. Love the push-out feature after losing my cap on my previous flash drive.
About the title: How can anybody not realize that it must have been a mistake that the product was listed for .01 cents?? Geez, 6000 people ordered this? And so many bad reviews for the company who sells them and Amazon? Get a grip people. Your own greed caused this.
Guess y'all never made a mistake in your life? I hope everyone apologizes to the company who's rating you have demolished because of your own intolerance for a mistake.
I too have been mad at Amazon before when they listed the shipping as before Christmas and I didn't get it until after. So you write to Amazon, get them to explain and not write a horrible review first!
That type of greed that makes people mad they had to pay a (very) fair price for a good product is the same motivator that made those 2000 people storm the Walmart.
