Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk 8GB/30MB Ultra CF Card ( SDCFH-008G-A11, US Retail Package )

Customer Review: The Good Bad and the Ugly
Summary: 4 Stars

THE GOOD
I found this 8.0 GB Sandisk card worked well with my Nikon D300. I used it to photograph a wedding a few weeks ago and it kept up with my camera inburst mode at 6 frames per second. 11-12 mega bites for each frame. Took over 300 shots in RAW and only used 5.5 gigs of its 8.0. Not as fast as the Ultra III but close. Very please with this card. For the price for a photographer on a budget it is well worth the price. Also used Sandisk SD cards in my other Nikon cameras and they work just as well.

THE BAD:
A bit slow downloading to my computer but at that point I am not in a hurry.

THE UGLY:

Some of my shots, but that is not the cards fault.

Customer Review: Is Something Going On Here...?
Summary: 3 Stars

This 8 GB flash card works just fine - stores about 800 RAW files for my Canon Rebel. My only concern is that the CF pictured is not what I received. I bought this from ChiTek (through Amazon) and got an "Ultra" instead of the "Ultra II." Label is completely different as well (no SanDisk logo, for instance). Is this the card I ordered with a new design? Is it different but just as good? Is it a downgrade? I don't know. And I didn't have time to research it before I used it (got it in the mail the day I left for an overseas trip). So having used it once, I can attest that it works; but I know there's a lot of counterfeit cards out there, so you might want to investigate before you buy.

Customer Review: SanDisk & GR 20 trail, Corsica
Summary: 5 Stars

On Oct 8th of this year I was hiking the GR 20 trail in Corisca France, known as the toughest hike in Europe.
On the 13th & last day of this hike I fell in the rocks, camera went flying, bounced off a ledge or two & ended up in a stream, under water. When I recovered the camera & lens, totaled, I found the Sandisk memory card under water about 8 feet away. I dried the card, put it in my pocket, put it in a bag of rice back in Paris & then I purchased a card reader & low & behold I recovered all my photos, never lost one. I filled 5 memory cards on this hike, all SanDisk, with no photo loss or problems due to the Memory card. I love SanDisk. They take abuse. Sincerely, C. Robert Maughan

Customer Review: AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!! Wrong product, no customer service, no refund
Summary: 1 Stars

Sent me the wrong product and didn't care to resolve the situation. They had no desire to make me happy by sending me the correct products. Bad customer service and no one replied to my complaints. I'm stuck with the wrong product, which is even cheaper than what I paid for. BEWARE- false advertising, no customer service, no guilt. This is the kind of company that makes web consumers be careful. This is the BAD GUY.

Customer Review: 2nd Gen iPod Mini CF card conversion
Summary: 5 Stars

Long story short, I had a 6GB iPod mini that the microdrive died on (one too many falls). I didn't want to shell our the money for a new iPod, and I love to tinker so I looked for options. CF card conversion was one that seemed proven and the SanDisk Ultra II was a compatible card for the 2nd Gen Mini.

Easy install and guess what? IT WORKS.

FOR EVERYONE LOOKING TO CONVERT THEIR 2ND GEN MINI TO CF CARD, LOOK NO FURTHER.

I would say that it you aren't as tight as I am you could even get a larger capacity Ultra II card and the mod would still work fine.
