Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk 8 GB Extreme III CF Card SDCFX3-008G-A31 (Retail Package)Customer Review: Great memory card Summary: 4 Stars
I have enjoyed having the larger memory card in my new dslr camera. The only reason why I didn't give this product a 5 star review is because it required me to buy a new memory card reader just to be able to get photos off the card. My 3 year old sandisk reader was useless with this memory card while connected to a mac. After upgrading to an Extreme sandisk memory card reader, everything is good.
Customer Review: Excellent capacity, a little slower than I'd like Summary: 4 Stars
This card is excellent for most DSLR use. I can store about 1100 JPEGs or 200 RAW with my D300. New buyers should know this card does nor support UDMA so the speed is only around 60% as fast as the new UDMA cards. However, depending on your camera, it can still handle endless continuous JPEGS (As long as you set it to a lower quality) but still perfectly acceptable for high motion photography.
Customer Review: Extreme III 8 gig card Summary: 5 Stars
Hmmmm. What can I say about a CF card. I bought this because I'm a compulsive clicker with my Canon 40D, and my old 4gb card was filling up too fast on some of my outings. This 8gb card gives me 616 shots shooting at ISO 100. So far, I have never filled it up before I have a chance to download. I was definitely going to purchase an 8gb card, so when Amazon ran this one on sale, I got it.
Customer Review: The Usual high quality SanDisk Card Summary: 5 Stars
Once I started shooting RAW I quickly realized that the 2 GB cards just weren't large enough for my weekend trips. I bought the Extreme III 8GB card and am confident that this is what I need. It writes quickly with the 40D and is a very good value for the amount of memory. Highly recommend. Typical SanDisk quality card; I have used a lot of them over the years and never had a failure.
Customer Review: Very dependable; lots of shots Summary: 5 Stars
In my Nikon D200 at the finest jpeg setting, I can get 899 shots with the Sandisk 8 gigabyte Extreme III card. It seems to be the real thing (these days it's hard to tell a counterfeit), and I've had no problems with it so far. It's fast enough for me when downloading the photos via the Sandisk III Reader. All I'm concerned with is the card's integrity and durability. This card has it.
