Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk 2GB SD Memory Card (SDSDB-2048, Bulk Package)Customer Review: Depending on the Size of Files, Can Fit only 180 in ROOT Directory Summary: 5 Stars
As my review says, it depends on how big the file sizes are, but I think it is important to note that if you are going to use this card for a Digital Picture Frame or Digital Camera, take note that an SD card can only fit so much in the root directory.
I want to use this for a Dynex digital picture frame I got for Christmas, and I just wanted to throw all my pictures in the root directory so that they were "shuffled" that way.
After much testing, the conclusions were between 150-300 files in the root directory, depending on the size of the files. I'm not sure if this is a security feature or what, but to me it is just plain annoying when I just want to throw all my pictures on there for my digital picture frame.
Solution 1: Format this card to be NTFS. The problem with that is that it will not work in most digital cameras (it is recommended that if you use this with a digital camera, that you format it INSIDE the digital camera itself), and it won't work in most digital picture frames, which includes mine, the Dynex DPF7A picture frame.
Solution 2: Create folders in the root directory of the SD card and store the pictures in separate folders. I have one folder for "Family Pics", one for "Friends Pics" and one for "Random Pics", etc. This is obviously the best way, because then you can have many, MANY pictures inside of one file and wah-lah, it works.
I prefer solution 2, and I will update in a few months after I have used this card daily (as in, Monday-Friday at my work for the digital picture frame), and will let you all know how it turns out!
Customer Review: More than I expected Summary: 5 Stars
When I purchased my Canon S2IS camera, I was looking for something good, but not too expensive for taking pictures of friends and family and various nature shots to save on the computer. I didn't need professional grade equipment. When it arrived, it had the 16MB card. I was a little disappointed at the 6-8 pictures OR the 7 seconds of video. I knew that I was going to need to get a better memory card eventually thanks to the reviews of all the other people who purchased this same camera.
I shopped around and found this great deal that seemed to be too good to be true. A 2GB memory card for only 16.99. I looked into this through every customer review on the amazon web site and through the sellers profile and the customer reviews on their site. Still a little skeptical, I figured it was a chance I could take for such a great price. I was amazed when I recieved the memory card and found out just how many pictures I could take without having to stop and erase the bad ones or save the good ones to the computer before taking more. Some of the reviews have said it holds 1500 pictures, but I haven't needed to take quite that many just yet. I didn't really get the camera for the video option, but so far I have captured almost a half hour of good quality video at one time. This has turned out to be the best deal I have found in a very long time. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for an inexpensive memory card to play around with for personal use and more.
Customer Review: Reliable brand-name memory! Summary: 5 Stars
If it wasn't for the free camera I won at work in 2003 I wouldn't have standardized on SD memory for my devices. So I got to witness the huge price drop for SD memory cards.
While I use DVD-R for long-term archival storage I mainly use these 2GB cards in my SanDisk e140 MP3 player and my Nikon Coolpix L5 digital camera mainly because they use the older SD card standard which is limited to 2GB anyway. But then I consider the e140 the best MP3 player I've ever used (the SD card slot and NiMH AAA battery support were huge considerations, along with a dot-matrix screen) while the Nikon has 5x optical zoom which, sadly, isn't found on the newer models.
But this is a review of SD card memory. And it's here where I can admit freely that I've tried many brands and noticed that some SD cards are faster than others. This "lag" is very noticeable in the Nikon camera. I've found that the SanDisk cards offer the right amount of performance for the dollar. When used in my MP3 player they don't draw much energy so I get a lot of playtime from charge to charge.
I'm sure anyone can find higher-capacity cards which offer less money per GB. But, for high quality 2GB SD cards, these are winners. And they appear faster than the Kingston and PNY cards.

SanDisk 2GB SD Memory Card
What can I say? Giving these things away + shipping and handling. Sure I'll pay the shipping and handling- wouldn't you?
*But all I read is from a BUNCH of WEENIES CRYing about the shipping costs!!
**What a Bunch of Sour Grapes! I just bought 2 more of these Sandisk, 2GB SD cards. Doesn't matter how fast they are because I'll use them for sharing photos with peoples 0wning Digital Picture Frames. I bought mine at Blue Proton only because I'm a past customer.
I paid $5.55 + .01 Shipping/Handling. And you are Whining to the World about paying $1 + $4.50 per unit shipping/handling???
***AREN't You BABIES Familiar with shipping costs for internet shopping? They can't charge consumer USPS rates of $.45 per oz. At the Low end of Any Shipping cost will be a Figure of anywhere from $4.50 up to $12.00 for a camera sized product. But there is a minimum, you CryBabies!!
I love knowing I just bought 2 x 2GB of Sandisk SD cards for $11.12 !!
***And for those of you claiming this shipping cost came up and bit you while you weren't looking- You're a BUNCH OF LIARS!! All shipping Costs Appear adjacent (right next to) each card coming from each of several merchants. I just chose one I was familiar with.
Run on Home and Tell your Momma she wants You!!
Customer Review: SanDisk: The last word in removable digital media Summary: 5 Stars
I've got a Kingston in my phone, but I have to say that I'm absolutely sold on SanDisk. I have a Sansa e260 MP3 player that I really wanted to double the capacity of, but I didn't know for sure if it was compatible with the High Capacity cards. So I just went with the 2GB model to be sure.
I popped it in my phone and then in my MP3 player and it works just like it's supposed to. By comparison, when I bought my LG phone from Verizon, I had to go through 3 Kingston cards before finding one that worked.
Don't expect any fancy packaging or you'll be disappointed. Mine came in the plastic storage case (note that the card and adapter were secure inside, not flopping around loose) simply dropped in a padded mailing envelope small enough to fit into my post office box. (I have the smallest box available).
Oh, I almost forgot... The shipping. Three days. Three days from 'click to order' to 'pull up outside the post office'. Hard to beat that... Amazon and their partners are, in my opinion, committed to customer satisfaction. I could go on, but then you'd just think I was employed by Amazon, so I'll just shut up, now...
