Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk 2 GB SDSDX3-2048-901 Extreme III SD Memory Card (Retail Package)Customer Review: Great card. Not much else to say! Summary: 5 Stars
It stores the amount of pictures you would expect from a 2gb card. It seems pretty fast, though picture to picture taking and video recording is going to be limited to the speed of the camera and downloads from a card reader are going to be limited to your pc/usb transfer speed. I don't imagine the card would at anytime be the limiting factor. I guess I don't really care whether or not it has the "protection" feature since it isn't something I plan to use, but for those who do, why not? I've heard of others breaking, but as long as you're careful on insertion/removal I can't see how that would happen with this card.
Customer Review: Fantastic memory card Summary: 5 Stars
This memory card is everything you could want in a memory card. It is incredibly fast, making it easy to take shots in rapid succession. It has huge memory, which is essential for use with higher megapixel cameras. With other similar cards I have experienced loss of data, but absolutely no problems whatsoever with this card. I don't even have to worry about the card if I am shooting in extremely hot weather, or in extremely cold weather. The card is built to withstand extremes, so in this way works better than film! Worth the extra money for this particular card, don't waste your time with other "fast" media.
Customer Review: Speed, Speed, Speed Summary: 5 Stars
If you are buying a several hundred dollar camera, then at least have the sense to take advantage of it by buying a FAST memory card. I didn't expect much from this card, or for there to be a noticable difference. Well, was I shocked from my recent vacation when I was shooting photos left and right, and the people in my group were waiting 2-3 seconds before the could take another photo. Not only does it allow your camera to shoot faster, but it lowers your blood pressure as well, because you didn't miss the shot. I can never go back to using a regular speed card. The card worked as advertised. I love it.
Customer Review: Sandisk Extreme III Cards Summary: 5 Stars
Being that I always use Sandisk Flash Cards I love this one. I have until recently used Ultra II cards exclusively and now use the Sandisk 2 Gig Extreme III cards. They read and write twice as fast as the other cards I was using. Very nice to shoot consecutive shots more quickly. Very competitive pricing and the best in lifetime warrenty's!
Why 2 Gig? They are now priced so that you can afford them. You get your entire vacation on one card...or not...and if you take any video with your camera you have the opritunity to take a longer film for not much more money. Robert F Hauser
Customer Review: Great card but there are less expensive options Summary: 4 Stars
I have plenty of SD cards and the Sandisk Ultra III is one of the fastest around. When tested with my Nikon D80 against the Sandisk Ultra II version (and other 80x SD cards), the Ultra III was about twice as fast in being able to clear the camera's internal buffer. This may be a factor if you do lots of burst mode shooting.
That being said, I also have a Transcend 2GB 150x SD card and it is just as fast and reliable as the Sandisk Ultra III for about half the price. So if you want speed on a budget, get the Transcend. If you must have Sandisk, then this is the card to get.
