Finally a high capacity storage device at a reasonable price that can withstand some abuse and looks nice as well. I have been eying this one for a while. Those who complain about the clip scratching the unit never bothered to try to slide it on - it does so easily. The capless cover is a delight as with the lesser 1 gig plastic model I also have. Read/write time is extremely fast.
The only bad thing I can say about it is the clip on the lanyard. Although metal instead of plastic, it is tiny and takes two hands to open it. It is not quick-release by any means. No big deal though. The included software package can be toggled on/off and is highly customizable. Nice - all in all. I'll buy the 4 gig most likely when it comes out.

A solid, durable drive. Unfortunately, it's not clear on the packaging that it's not for Macs. However, when you mount the drive, an extra 'CD' drive containing the U3 software mounts as well. I've seen this on other drives that include Windows utilities, but have never had a problem deleting and reformatting the drive to get back that lost disk space.
Unfortunately, the Cruzer is not configured this way. On a Mac, you will never be able to get rid of the extra U3 disk that mounts every time you mount the Cruzer, and you will also have to eject BOTH disks when you done using it. Finally, because of this issue, you lose about 60 MB of drive space.
So, it's probably a great drive for PCs, but not for Macs.

I've had this USB drive for about 3 months now, and I absolutely love it. I like to carry around my USB drives on my keychain, and durability has always been an issue. However, this device has a solid, all-metal construction, and an extremely handy and secure retracting mechanism. I get great performance from the drive as well. The U3 software can be helpful for some, although for me, I fail to find it as useful. Fortunately, Sandisk now provides a way to remove the bundled U3 software from the drive itself, turning it into a standard 2gb USB drive. There are cheaper 2gb flash drives out there, but none of them would last nearly as long as the Cruzer Titanium. For the quality that you get, the price simply cannot be beat.Customer Review: Real Live Metal!

This is by far the best USB memory key I have ever had. My main concern was strength of packaging and I have gone through several keys that appeared to be metal, only to find after several months of usage that it was chromed plastic. If you actually plan to keep this on your keychain you NEED a metal casing. By far the best value for people who need to keep their data portable. NOTE: This keychain is a U3 memory key. U3 is a menu system that allows you to keep full installations of antivirus, chat, Internet, and other programs at a click away. Some expert users may choose to uninstall this feature to save the 8%, but I feel the ease of use more than makes up for the data. Uninstallation is easy and provided from the menu.Customer Review: Amazon is great!

But JRs is not! During my online purchase of the SanDisk 2 GB Cruzer the JR website (that Amazon linked me to) did not give me any shipping options. Instead, the forced option was to charge me about $20 to ship this product (which was listed at less - $19 and weighed less than a few ounces)!
At that point, I just went through with the order and received a shipping confirmation date and a solicitation to provide a review of my experience.
After submitting a negative review similar to this one, I was sent an e-mail by this "JR" company that my order had been cancelled due to some lame inventory issue.
Needless to say, I never received my order and will never order anything from them again.
