Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk 2 GB Cruzer Titanium ( SDCZ7-2048-A10, Retail Package)

Customer Review: Best Cruzer you can get.
Summary: 4 Stars

I have two of these and a cruzer titanium 1. This is a revised version of the original cruzer titanium. This revised version fixes the issues of the previous model. The case is held together better than its predecessor (the old one use to come apart very easily). But they substituted real metal, for some cheap alloy/plastic housing. It reads and writes fast and is sturdy, but after a few days (especially if you got it on your keyring) the housing is all scratched up and dull.
This model has u3, most bad reviews about this model are because of u3. U3 was abandoned earlier this year for a newer technology coming out soon. U3 does not work with Windows Vista. I recommend you remove U3 by going to [...]
Overall a great USB drive, better than its predecessor.

Customer Review: Well made drive, not upgradable to Vista
Summary: 4 Stars

Something about the Cruzer Titanium just feels like quality. It works well and easily installs to the computers in which I have used it. The U3 functionality is one of the primary reasons for purchase, however, and it doesn't work on a Vista machine. More than that, if one uses the security feature with a password, a vista computer will not recognize it at all. Research indicates that this particular model, nice as it is, will not be upgradable to Vista as it's version is listed in the 'not upgradeable'list. Perhaps that is why the price seems to have dropped significantly lately. If one uses it on windows 98 or XP, it has full functionality. If one plans on use between several computers, one of which is a Vista computer and U3 is important, pass on this one.

Customer Review: Third SanDisk flash drive I've owned
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the third SanDisk flash drive I've owned, and they've all had excellent performance and reliabilty. The 2 GB Cruzer that I bought recently is no exception. It installed automatically in three different computers without a hitch.

I'm not using the U3 software, but I may give it a try. Right now I'm using it as a simple drag-and-drop device, and it works flawlessly.

My only concern - and it's very minor - is that there is no cap, so you have to be careful to keep lint and dust out of the opening. I usually carry mine in my pocket, so I occasionally have to blow a little lint out of it, but that's not a big deal. It has a nice soft lanyard if you want to carry it around your neck.

A very good flash drive for the money.

Customer Review: Tons of software "to go"
Summary: 4 Stars

U3 is a great benefit of this drive. It allows easy installation of software to go. If you take your drive to work, school, switch back and forth between a laptop and desktop, this drive is great!

With the software you can add a password before anything initiates, creating a secure world for you and your data.

I use this drive for my web design and C++ programming files. It reads and writes to the drive very quickly, much faster than the three other thumb drives I own.

Pro: Small size, Big storage, switchblade style usb connection, comes with a pocket clip.

Cons: Blue light. While this isnt any sort of deal for anyone, its bad to me. I just prefer white, yellow, or UV light. seriously not a big deal though.

Customer Review: The Titanium Factor
Summary: 4 Stars

You just want a reliable device that's small, spacious, durable, and can fit on a keychain. This does all that. At $40, it costs more than some other brands, but I gladly paid the difference to avoid a plastic casing.

The casing on my previous Cruzer was plastic, and cracked (while un-tethered, the thing wound up in a wash cycle, but survived--data intact). It's hard to find anything solid anymore! If there is one downside, it's that the pre-installed "U3" software (antivirus, password-protect, eject, etc.) isn't Mac-compatible. I don't use it anyway, I only use the space. Still, respect the Mac. And when transferring from Mac to PC, Windows loads those annoying ".DS_Store" files. Other that that, it's a win.

Will buy more.
