Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk 1 GB MicroSD Card (SDSDQ-1024-A10M, US Retail Package)Customer Review: Expanded Memory for Motorola RAZR V3m for Verizon Summary: 5 Stars
The SanDisk 1GB Micro SD Card arrived quickly with intact sturdy packaging. I installed it in my Motorala RAZR V3m as expanded memory for my music library. Be sure to remove the RAZR battery to clear the access slot for the Micro SD. The V3m recognized the expanded memory without any problems. I used Motorola Phone Tools to transfer my entire music library. The program converts the mp3 file formats before transfer. The entire music library...a full 1GB...transferred reasonably quickly. The V3m is slow to access "My Music" using menu function #3 under "Get Tunes & Tones". Function #6 "Manage Music" accesses the library reasonably quickly and works well. The new corded Motorola SYN1301B stereo earbuds work well in this configuration. Sound quality is surprisingly good, but the large diameter earbuds are flat...not tapered... and do not seat very well in the ear canal. The SanDisk 1GB MicroSD Card provides great value at a very reasonable price for full optimization of the V3m as cell phone with "MP3" player.
Customer Review: Works Great with the Motorola E815 Summary: 5 Stars
I've owned the SanDisk 1GB MicroSD card and a Motorola E815 for about a month. I use the card primarily for storing MP3s, videos, and photos. Access time is great--it seems to work as fast as the on-board memory.
This card will NOT work out-of-the-box in the E815. You will need to format the card on a computer using an SD and/or microSD USB reader. Get the SanDisk MobileMate 5-in-1 reader to do that ($13 on Amazon). It is not hard to format the card. If you use Windows, the card will show up as a new drive... simply go to 'My Computer', right-click on the new drive and choose 'Format'.
This is one of a few 1GB microSD/TransFlash cards that have been made (as of May 2006). A-Data appears to also have a 1GB microSD card. A 2GB microSD card is the in the works for late 2006.
This card ships with an SD adapter. So, you can put the microSD card inside the SD adapter to convert to a regular SD card.
Customer Review: works with LG cu500 Summary: 4 Stars
This works fine with the LG cu500 and is probably cheaper than you can get off at&t's cell phone accessory store.
If you're looking for a better deal, one thing you do need to be careful about is that you're getting a SandDisk microSD card - I believe other brands, which might be cheaper, are not necessarily compatible with the LG cu500.
As other people have mentioned, even if you use the adapter to turn it into a full sized SD card, older card readers (mine was around three years old) might not necessarily be able to read it.
Also, the microSD card, being ridiculously small, is also quite hard to pull out of both the full-sized SD card adapter as well as the cell phone itself, which is something you might want to think about if you intend on moving it a lot, for example between your cell phone to the SD adapter to put in a card reader to transfer data.
Customer Review: Works great in my LG EnV Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this MicroSD card for my LG EnV. I wanted to be able to take photos and videos with higher resolution (which take up a lot of memory). Also, Verizon Pix Place doesn't permit you to upload large file sizes so I needed another way to get the photos and videos to my computer. This little memory chip works great. I bought the Sandisk Extreme USB 2.0 Reader (Retail Package)to use as a reader. You can get away with a less expensive reader, but this one can read many different card types and I can use it to read my camera flash cards as well.
Just one note for anyone considering using a MicroSD chip with an EnV phone. I popped it into the phone quickly and easily and couldn't figure out how to get it out. You simply press in on the card and it springs out.
Customer Review: So far, so good Summary: 5 Stars
I just recently upgraded my Verizon phone to the LG VX8300. I scoured the internet searching for the cheapest prices on MicroSD cards. Noticing the unusually low price for Kingston, I did a little research (if something is too good to be true, it probably is), and discovered that Kingston MicroSD cards have a known (or did) bug that prevented them from being recognized by certain LG phones. Well, I wasn't having any of that. SanDisk has never given me problems with flash drives before, so I spent a little extra money, and purchased the 1GB card. I've had it for over a month, with no problems. I've taken pictures and video, transferred songs and uploaded new backgrounds on it. The transfer rate is quite fast, and the adapter works perfectly allowing me to easily move files between my phone and my laptop using my memory card reader.
