Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of 1 GB SanDisk MicroSD TransFlash Memory Card (Bulk)Customer Review: Glitch card Summary: 3 Stars
This chip is billed as new and NEW means "completely compatible" with the products intended for use. It functions well in my Samsung A707 when it is recognized by the phone. You see, each time you turn on your phone the chip is not recognized. You need to unseat/reseat the chip for the phone to see it each time it is turned on. This is annoying since you need a nice strong, long, fingernail to do it. A random glitch? No, the same thing occurs with at least 4 other A707's that I know of. These include different discount Sandisk chips bought from different vendors. Either the phone has the issue or the discounted chips were defective. When your phone says "memory card has unrecognized format do you want to format?" SAY "NO." Just reset the card and look for the card icon in the upper right hand display.
Customer Review: Works fine in Samsung SGH-A707 phone Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this sandisk 1GB microSD (bulk) from Digital Media Source through amazon. The shipping is smooth and fast. The card is working well with a card reader in a PC and in the Samsung SGH-A707 phone. I can take pictures, videos, and play MP3 music on it. I have used SD for many years, but it is the first time for to use the microSD. At first try, the memory card wasn't recognized in PC and phone. I used a bathtissue to erase the contact pins, then it works fine. The bulk package is about half price of its retail package. The only difference is that it doesn't come with a plastic package cover with a warrantee paper card. But it works great. The microsSD is tiny, it is weak mechanically. Besides cleaning the pins, the alginment is as important when you plug in the socket.
Customer Review: Memory card for my cell phone. Summary: 4 Stars
Worked fine in my LG VX8300 phone. The Verizon customer service people tried to tell me that you can only buy cards specificallly formatted for their phones, but they are full of it. Apparantly any MicroSD card will work in your phone just fine...even the cheepest one. You do NOT need to spend $60 for the same card in the Verizon store.
One important note: Do not use the enclosed adapter card when initially formatting the card despite any instructions that may come with the phone or accessories. Instead, leave the microSD card inside your cell phone and connect to the computer using your USB cable. Trust me, it works much better that way! I think the the bad instructions are Verizon's way to ensure that you buy their more expensive card in the store.
Customer Review: Watch out on pricing for this one! Summary: 3 Stars
Amazon currently has this listed for $29.92 and here it's $16.79. However, look at the shipping policies for this vendor. It is $5.95 for one item and then another $7 for 1-3 day 'expedited'.
If you've got Amazon Prime you'll get the full retail package for an extra 23 cents instead of what I assume is an OEM white box package (is that what "Bulk" means in the product title?).
I don't know for sure if this is going to work in my BlackBerry Pearl. All indications say it will but I'd rather take Amazon's no quibble returns than trying to figure out how to send it back to somebody I've never done business with before.
Watch out for shipping sometimes. It really bumps up the price of something that appears to be a deal.
Customer Review: Sandisk - Only one that works with LG CU500 Summary: 5 Stars
For mobile phone choice, my daughter wanted the Cingular LG CU500 while my son opted for the Cingular Sync (Samsung 707). Both units use MicroSD cards for storing MP3s and other stuff. I looked and found the best price for 2 Kingston Cards and bought them. However, when they arrived, the CU500 would not read the Kingston while the Sync had no problems. I checked all the blogs and read that the LG CU500 was finicky and needed the SanDisk. I found it hard to believe but went ahead and ordered this SanDisk. When it arrived, I was surprised to find out that indeed, it worked fine while the Kingston did not. I am glad they come with adapters so I can use the Kingston as a SecureSD as well. Buy this one if you have an LG CU500.
