Customer Review: One of the best keyboards we have ever owned
Summary: 5 Stars

I read plenty of reviews on this keyboard before buying it fo my husband. Although many of them were not all that great I chose to go ahead with the purchase anyway. I am thankful that I did!!

A few of the bad reviews said the keys were too "hard" and others said they were to "soft" of a touch, I beg to differ. The keys are absolutely perfect you do not need to apply too much pressure nor do they depress with only the lightest of touches.

Other reviews said it was hard to install. All I can say is those people must of been a little light in the head!! It was a breeze to install and use!!

There were also reviews complaining that the light was too bright. Those people need to go to their eye doctor as their eyes must be EXTREMELY sensitive to light. Our computer is in our bedroom and my husband tends to use it while I am trying to go to sleep. The light from the keyboard does not keep me awake at all. Not only that but my husband does have a sensitivity to light and he has left the keyboard light on all night long and still had no trouble getting to sleep.

Bottom line it is a great keyboard and I would recommend it to anyone.

Customer Review: spectacular keyboard
Summary: 4 Stars

The keyboard is sturdy and aesthetically pleasing with 3 colors of LED's to choose from, as well as control of their brightness. I do have a few gripes:

1) The LED's do not light up the media keys--This seems to be an oversight of the developers. And while not all the keys light up evenly, the majority of the "light" emanates is centered on the Qwerty keyboard--where it should be, if even lighting was unavailable.

2) It would have been nice to have have a "swirling color" feature that allows the board to shift the colors from one to the next every minute or so. It is redundant to have an "off" feature of the keyboard [pressing the LED color button for the 4th time] while having a dimmer switch that does the same thing.

Ok, now for the PROs

1)WORKS PERFECTLY OUT OF THE BOX! Seriously, all I did was take it out, and all did was plug the USB cable into an open hub. The media keys work for any media player you have open/enabled. Just now, i muted youtube with a keyboard button. That is one big pro that makes the board near-perfect.

2) The USB cord is very long and sturdy. That's a tiny detail that makes set up easier.

Customer Review: A good Keyboard
Summary: 4 Stars

This is an excelent keyboard for both multimedia and gaming use. The keys have excelent feedback and the board has zero compatiblity issues with XP SP3, Vista and Win. 7. It looks flashy, but not overdone like some keyboards (See Saitek Cyborg Series). It lacks marcros, so if you like macro keys for your MMOs and RPGs look elsewhere. If you do not want/can't stand unused macro keys and still want a backlit keyboard, I highly recomend this one. I have two complaints with the board. First, the backlighing is not tottally even, which can sometimes be confusing in the dark. Also, it does not save color preferences, so if the user want's any color besides blue they need to change it from the default every time. This may annoy some users. Finally, The feet on the board are fragile compared to similar keyboards.

Pros:
Very nice typing feedback
Backlit
Adjustible brightness dial

Cons:
Some flimsy parts (Feet, armrest)
Does not keep lighing color between sessions

Pro or con:
No Macro buttons
Simple design (less flashy than similar keyboards, but more elegant)
Not many features/very compatable

Customer Review: Very nice typing "feel"; No USB ports; Limited backlight usefulness
Summary: 4 Stars

I was very impressed with how nice it feels typing on this keyboard. I tried out a lot of models before going with this. I also like that there are not a lot of useless extra buttons. The few in the upper right are just perfect. The letters and symbols on the keys are very visible. The wrist rest is comfortable to use.

By far my biggest disappointment and issue is the lack of USB ports. My old keyboard had 2, and now I have to unplug my printer USB cables to make room for what I used to plug into the keyboard. For the price, this is an unacceptable oversight.

As for the lighting, well it looks cool since all my lighting is blue, but it is actually distracting in the dark at full brightness. At less than full, the lighting is completely useless. There are few actual LEDs (the space bar is only half lit), and there is more glare between the keys than light through the letters. Overall, I think the red light shines through the best, but I leave it at blue to match everything else.

Issues:
- Lighting is weak through the keys.
- No USB ports.
- Wrist rest only connects on both ends and is floppy in the middle.

Customer Review: Is the LED backlighting really worth about fifty bucks?
Summary: 3 Stars

I've had this keyboard for a couple years now, and it worked well enough for a while. Then my "C" key became glitchy, which is a pain when you want to copy text as much as I do. The silver "rim" of the board has also faded in the area where my left palm rests, and the "+" key on the number pad was stuck from day one. I really haven't found much practical use for the LED backlighting, largely because it's never been particularly bright to begin with.

The volume and mute buttons work as seamlessly in Ubuntu as they do in Windows, which is nice, but the volume increments are larger than I would like, and there seems to be no way to adjust that. The matte texture on all the keys can pick up oil and crud over time as well. (You may have heard the keys described as "laser cut," but it's really just opaque plastic that's been painted black.)

In short, I find it difficult to justify the purchase price. I've bought keyboards for a *third* of the cost that had superior endurance. It looks nice when you're taking photographs of your computer, I guess, but I think I'll stick to the basic boards from now on, now that beige is no longer unavoidable.
