Cables work fine, just didn't provide a "clean picture." Definitely added grain to the picture, while my component cables did not.
if you bought this cable off the startech website, it would cost you 53 bones, so this is definitely a deal if you wanted to use it for an audio receiver. but the video playback is nicht so gut.

I purchased the StarTech cable with the idea that I would not lose much if it did not perform and I could save a lot if it did. I am completely satisfied and extremely happy about the money I saved. Monster and all these other companies would have you believe that if you don't spend at least $60 on an HDMI cable, you are not going to have good picture. I received 2 of these cables for $9 each and they perform perfectly well. I have one hooked to a DirecTV HD DVR and the other hooked to my PS3 and the picture on both is stunning.Customer Review: Good product at5 a good price

It never ceases to amaze me as to how much the big box stores charge for cables HDMI or other types, when you can get the same quality for a lot less at this source. A popular magazine did a study and found no difference between cheap cable and the more expensive (think five or six times or more) cables. Needing a longer cable to hook up a laptop with HMDI output to our HD TV, I was skeptical about a low priced 15 ft cable after reading some bad reviews on the low price 6 footers. But it was worth a try. So far, it provides an excellent signal, and the cable is not left in place, but connected on demand, without problems.
