Customer Review: Unstable switch

I am afraid that I have to agree with the 1-star ratings: This is a poor quality electronic switch, with unstable sync on about 10% of the channels that I tried routing through it. A prior three-position mechanical component video switch had stable sync on all channels, and re-installing that mechanical switch restored stable operation on all channels. Audio was fine, but that does no good without stable video. Too bad, as I liked the style of the case, and having a remote control would have been great. The fact that 90% of the component video routed through this switch was fine probably explains the puzzling product rating range between 5 stars and 1 star; if you only watch cable channels with pristine quality video, the switch appears to work okay. But if you try to route some of the public, educational and government (PEG) channels through the switch, which shall we say can be sync-challanged, this switch goes nuts, giving either no signal, or wildly jumping picture displays. An electronic component video switch should be able to handle such signals. Since it cannot, I am giving this product a 1-star rating.
