For me,one of the most important aspects of any EDC knife is the ease with which it's deployed and closed. The Delica Wave affords its user the flexibility of easy, effortless one-handed deployment and retraction. The Emerson wave feature adds the additional advantage of "quick-draw" deployment in a potential self defense situation (You-tube videos a-plenty can provide a visual demo if you're so inclined) . Hell, you can even open bottles with it! The VG10 blade is a major step up from the 8Cr13MoV used in the Tenatious (another OUTSTANDING Spyderco knife, by the way), and offers even better rust resistence. Be careful with this guy, because mine was razor sharp right out of the box, which is something for which Spyderco has developed a reputation. The Delica's locking mechanism does it's job perfectly. There's absolutely no blade play, neither horizontally, nor vertically. The 4-way adjustable clip offers maximum freedom of choice for tip up/down and right/left handed preferences. Spyderco also made the clip black, which only adds to the bad-a** look of the Delica. The jimping is effective in its intended purpose, not just for asthetics, and will fix your thumb securely in place, allowing for maximum control when cutting or slicing. The FRN handle is every bit as "ggrippy" as the G10 handles found on the Tenatious. I always feel very secure in my grip on this knife. Since the blade length is 2 and 7/8 inches, this Delica model should be legal to cary in just about most, if not all states (don't quote me on this....just an educated guess). Even the lanyard hole is a good diameter and will accomodate 550 cord easily. In a nutshell, if you're looking for phenominal EDC knife from a reputable company at a very reasonable price, the Spyderco Delica Wave will NOT disappoint!
