Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SP Studio Systems Swivel Bracket (SPBRACK)Customer Review: Does what I need it to... Summary: 4 Stars
I wish there were a better way to cinch down the connectors on the ends of the bracket. Turning the knob a bunch of turns isnt all that handy. Perhaps a faster thread with a lever handle like is used for the angle adjust. Its no deal breaker, but it is a little cumbersome. I use this bracket with a 580EXII and "Pocket Change Wizards" (Ebay triggers). This puts the flash up a little high. I have checked flash coverage on the umbrella, and it seems to be fine. The angle adjust feature holds very solidly. The umbrella holder slot is also functional, giving a slight upward angle to the umbrella.

Customer Review: Works Great! Summary: 5 Stars
Very useful mount...made of high impact nylon not metal but seem to be a good light weight build. I have had no striping screw issues as of yet so mine work well (i use a different hot-shoe mount that are $8 a piece at adorama), the umbrella holders are reversible by 20 degrees or so, so slip it in the other side if it seems to low with your flash attached. This whole mount can be used sideways (on a standard umbrella stand) or upside down as well, it also has 1/4 and 3/8 inside and outside diameter mounting posts for 3/8 tripod hole and 1/4 plate screw hole, so very versatile. Mine work great!
Customer Review: Not great, but it's a good value Summary: 4 Stars
This clamp works fairly well. While plastic, everything is beefy and feels solid. The cold shoe leaves something to be desired, but overall it does what it is supposed to do.
If you're a beginner, this is a great clamp to start with. It will get you going for a reasonable price, and it works with all standard stands and umbrellas.
It really comes down to value. This clamp is not expensive, so if you're expecting something great, you should probably look elsewhere. However, if you're new to this, or just looking for a cheap clamp, I'd recommend this one.
Customer Review: Shoe mount weak and all around a bit flimsy Summary: 3 Stars
I agree with the other reviewer on the cold shoe - the shoes that come with this are weak and not something you want to mount an expensive flash on. No warranty for your flash when it crashes off the tripod.
A far better product is the Bogen 2905 Swivel Umbrella Adapter.
I bought two fo the Adorama Universal Swivel Holders. I ended up replacing the cold shoes on both Swivel Holders with the Stroboframe Bracket Shoe Mount which are rather expensive @ $15 each but far more secure.
I always use my Bogen 2905 Swivel Umbrella Adapter first.
Customer Review: Everything I expected Summary: 5 Stars
The bracket is everything I expected and more. Is very sturdy, the screws tighten as they should and don't loosen that easily. Every way to screw/mount I could think of is in there.
Both male and female ends of the two most used screw sizes are in the removable studs. I can use it on top of a light stand or a standard tripod. Can connect my flash with the screw for my TTL cable or via the hotshoe. Umbrella fits nicely
All in all, very satisfied.
