Customer Review: The first worthwhile rechargeable batteries I have owned
Summary: 5 Stars

I have purchased several brands of rechargeable batteries over the years and they have all been terrible, dying for no reason since they clearly weren't worked to death since they never worked well or long enough to stress their worthless rip-off little tubular bodies. Even an expensive charger couldn't revitalize their wasted lives.

You may own some of these yourself, sitting dead in a drawer. They are generally weightless because they are mostly expensive air, marketing masterpieces by the battery cartel.

But, enter the eneloop! Yay! Heavy little suckers filled with actual battery stuff, holding a charge forever (I have never found one of mine dead), and lasting well beyond anything else I have tried. My kids got them for their kid's annoying talking toys. Yes, that quacking and mooing and barking will never end until you physically kill the rubber creature and traumatize the children forever.

I wish there were Eneloop D cells, 9-volts, etc.

Highly recommended.

Customer Review: Not what I expected...
Summary: 2 Stars

I have a ton of electronic gadgets at home. Some of them being several weather stations and atomic clocks. After reading about these Eneloops, I thought they might solve the annoying problem of having to recharge and re-set the weather stations and their sensors every few months. Well, to make it short, I was wrong. These Eneloops last exactly as long as the Energizer NiMH AAA's that I used before.
I also bought some AA Eneloops for my Canon 720is which travels with me everywhere (I travel at least 5 times a month overseas). These did even worse, they lasted maybe a third of the time that the Energizer AA 2500's do.
I have to give them a low rating, because for me, they don't do what they claim. I'm not sure what the reason is (I have a Lacrosse BC-900 charger and charge them gently to capacity), maybe the voltage drops faster even though it has some capacity left, and the electronic devices then shut off? I don't know. But to me it's not worth the extra money for these Eneloops.

Customer Review: A good alternative to disposable and regular rechargeables...
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been using Eneloops in my digital cameras, GPS units, flashlights, remotes, cordless telephones, and wireless mice for several years now. The best feature of the Eneloops is the long "shelf life" of the charged batteries - I keep an extra set in my camera case, and even if I haven't used them for several months, I can rely on them when I need them. Same goes for flashlights, and they seem to last forever in my wireless mice. In my cordless phones, they last far longer than the standard rechargeables that came with the phones.

I haven't noticed any "memory effect" in batteries that I've recharged without fully discharging first, and Eneloops that I've been using for 3.5 years still perform like new.

When I shop for digital equipment I tend to buy only equipment that uses standard AA or AAA batteries and these Eneloops provide an easily interchangeable and reasonably priced alternative to the proprietary batteries provided with some equipment.

Customer Review: Eneloops are #1!
Summary: 5 Stars

Eneloops are #1 in rechargeable battery technology today. The charge lasts longer than other more common NiMH cells, and though the AH rating of these cells is not so great, in slower discharge applications these will last much longer.

I use them in battery powered bicycle head/tail light applications, LED flashlights and remote sensors for humidity and temperature. Not particularly useful for digital cameras, since they demand so much current, that the capacity of the batteries to resist self discharge holds little benefit. Use your existing standard brands in that application.

I have purchased several sets of AA and AAA batteries, and I like these very much, particularly in a good slow charger. I have not tried them in a NiCd or conventional dumb battery charger. Should work fine, but as these are still a bit expensive, shortening their life by fast charging is not a great idea.

Customer Review: These batteries brought me back to the rechargable market
Summary: 5 Stars

I recently purchased a high drain GPS'r. I love my screen as bright as I can get it and don't like it to (sleep) after sitting for awhile. These settings on the GPS'r unit would eat through Energizer Lithium Ultimates within two days. I quickly realized either I needed to switch my settings or get rechargable batteries. Its been many years since I have purchased rechargable batteries. I was able to use these batteries right out of the package in all of my devices, which is unheard of in a normal rechargable battery. I get about 8 hours of usefull life in my high drain GPS'r, which is two hours longer run time than brand name alkaline batteries. I bring along another set of rechargables just in case. These batteries are well constructed and work as advertised. If you want a battery that you can recharge and still has power after sitting for months, you won't be disappointed.
