Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sanyo Eneloop AA NiMH Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries - 8 Pack

Customer Review: Awesome Batteries.
Summary: 5 Stars

A year ago I bought Promaster XtraPower Pro rechargeable NiMH AA batteries for my Canon S3 IS. The batteries seemed to lose their charge quickly. Heading to the United Kingdom, I decided to try the new AA Sanyo ENELOOPS NiMH 2000mAh. To make sure that they held their full charge, I used the video feature of my camera. I've managed to get 250 minutes of video recording time with the ENELOOPS. Compare this to the Promaster that only lasted 150 minutes fully charged. Even with the ENELOOPS sitting in the camera for at least 3 days without use, I was able to record at least 100 minutes of video, and sitting in the camera after 2 weeks, I can still take photos without a recharge. The Promaster which were fully charged (but left to sit outside the camera for 3 days) needed charging as soon as I put them in the camera. I haven't taken my trip yet, but I don't plan on taking the Promaster batteries even as a backup. With 8 ENELOOPS and a battery charger, I think I'll be fine.

Customer Review: Everything they're hyped up to be
Summary: 5 Stars

I used these batteries for my Nikon Nikon D300 DX 12.3MP Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) + Nikon SB-600 Speedlight Flash for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras for a week. Took 2074+ photos, 1034+ of which the flash fired, all on the same 4 batteries. During the 1040+ the flash didn't fire, it was still on ready.

So I don't have any electrical ratings but I can say I'll never put another battery in my camera. I have the Nikon MB-D10 Multi Power Battery Pack for Nikon D300 & D700 Digital SLR Cameras grip, and used the batteries there as well. However I did re-charge them daily because I didn't know how long they'd last so I can't give you any numbers on that one.

Customer Review: A rechargeable battery you can keep for later
Summary: 4 Stars

I've been using rechargeable batteries for years and when I heard about the Eneloop, it seemed too good to be true. Although the claims are a bit exagerrated, it does live up to its promise.

This is the only rechargeable battery you can keep aside as spare and know that it will work when you need it.

I had a $50 Fuji 5MP camera that I almost threw away because it just sucked up my rechargeable batteries. When I got the Eneloop, the camera had a second life. Now all I have is a pair of Eneloops loaded and another pair spare.

My only problem now is what to do with 10's of older rechargeable batteries that I have. After trying out the Eneloop, conventional rechargeable batteries have no use for me anymore.

I still think there's a lot of room for improvement so I give it a 4-star rating. Otherwise, nothing else is better (there's the Rayovac Hybrid but I'm in Asia and we don't have that here).

Customer Review: Exactly what we needed

We were looking for rechargeable AA batteries for our son's and daughter's Leapster 2 handhelds. The Energizers we were using would simply not work, not sure if it was a voltage issue or if the batteries we were putting in were fully charged.....even though we fully charged the batteries a couple of times and put them in the Leapster 2 to make sure. I will say the Energizers work perfectly in our Wii remotes, but back to the Eneloops. The reviews for the Eneloops were outstanding so we gave them a chance and purchased the 8 pack prior to Christmas so our kids could use their new Leapster games they received. The Eneloops worked right out of the package and we still as of today Thursday, January 13, 2011 have not had to recharge the batteries in either Leapster 2. This is a huge savings over the Leapster Recharge Station which are $30 a piece or so. The best thing I can say about these batteries is that I will be buying them again.

Customer Review: The VERY BEST Batteries!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been using these amazing batteries for over three years now, and no other rechargeable batteries come anywhere near the performance of these, both in reliability (with all of the other brands I use there is always at least one in the bunch that won't charge after a few uses), and how long they hold the charge.

They are especially well suited for items you may not use as frequently, such as a flashlight (you need something you can rely on when the power goes out!), or remote controls. I've also purchased the AAA's with the same success. I more recently bought another brand that was on sale and claimed to be this type, but they're pure junk Over time I've been replacing all my rechargeable batteries with these, as they continually out-perform all of the others (including Maha, Duracell, & Energizer).

Bottom Line: Even if these excellent batteries are more expensive than most, they are well worth it.
