Funny, everyone seems so thrilled about how they come charged out of the box. While this is nice and convenient, the bigger picture is *why* they can come charged out of the box: they discharge at a much slower rate than normal (NiMH) rechargeable batteries. If you use your battery-needing product often, you may not notice this, but for things you use sporadically, this is a godsend. No more coming home from vacation to find your TV remote control is dead. No more grabbing your digital camera after three weeks of not using it only to find it won't start up.
These batteries are, indeed, the best of both worlds: they have the power and reuse advantages of a good NiMH battery, but the slow steady discharge of an Alkaline disposable. Look no further -- this is the rechargeable you've been waiting for.
And if you had to guess, I'm happy with my first set and about to order more... :)

I bought these batteries and charger to replace a crappy rechargeable pack built specifically for the Wii-mote. These things kick butt! They arrived charged and ready to use. They were sitting around for at least a month or two before I used them. I just finished playing through Resident Evil 4 and did not have to change the batteries until the very end - meaning these things lasted about 14.5 hours on a single charge! The speaker and rumble were ON for the entire time, too. Plus, I do not think they were even FULLY charged when I started using them. They take a while to recharge, but that's why you buy the four pack. If you are thinking of buying a rechargeable pack specifically built for your Wii-motes, buy this instead! The value is much better, since you can use the AA batteries in ANY device, and the charge lasts a really long time. I can't say enough good things about these batteries! When I got my XBox 360, my controllers were eating through a pair of AA's a week. Battery packs were expensive, and I was on a budget, so I tried these Eneloops. I was nothing short of thrilled by their performance. Now I only change the batteries out every six weeks or so. My wife uses the batteries in her Canon SX150. She can fire off about 300 shots (some with flash, some without) before the batteries run down.
Even after a year of use, these batteries are still going strong. I wish I would have bought these instead of fancy battery packs for my Wii. Not only do they work great, but they are significantly cheaper than most battery packs.
The only drawback about this product is that the charger is no-frills: there is a little light that lets you know when it is charged and that is it. No way has been provided to see how well a battery has been partially charged.
Customer Review: Message to all MFLB owners

These are the exact same batteries (down to the model number) that come with the MFLB, and are widely considered to be the best for the money. However, these batteries will NOT work out of the box, because they have a plastic wrapping around them.
Eneloop doesn't work with MFLB Magic Flight Launch Box until you unwrap the white Sanyo label from around the battery. Also, you need to scrub off the sticker residue with your thumb (or GooGone product) because it won't work with the residue. Once you take the label off and rub off the residue, you'll quickly notice that these batteries are the exact same as the batteries that come with the MFLB.
Hope this helps.. I almost returned these batteries before I figured out how to get them working.
PS: These batteries work great in XBox 360 remotes, with or without the white label. Figured I'd throw that in there.

I heard about these batteries and ordered through Amazon quickly. I was unhappy with the lithium AA batteries and the rechargables for my digital camera and wanted more reliability.
Digital cameras are very thirsty beasts that love to drink up that battery juice and thus you end up spending tons of money on batteries. No more!
Although they were not that energized right out of the box, repeated chargings got me through. I noted that at times my camera would read 'half charge' but when you turn it off and on again, it would show full charge. This may be just my camera, though.
Unlike alakines, these batteries lasted several hours of consistent shooting before needing a recharge. They really lasted a long time whereas alakines burn out early.
Recommended for DSLR users who need double-AA's for their camera addiction!
