I can not get into much detail about the electrical side of things as it relates to these batteries...but I can tell you that my decision to purchase them was purely based on reviews that I read on Amazon.
I have 3 kids and lots of toys that use a lot of AA batteries. I have'nt really looked into rechargeable before, but in lieu of the current situation in regard to global warming and all...I figured I would get a starter set and see how they work.
Yes they do come fully charged....but I believe it is about 80% based on other reviews.
We used the first set in a remote control car and it lasted a good 1hr and 40 minutes until the drain set in. Back to the charger they went.... I did not time how long it takes them to recharge...but when it was done my son was able to use his RC for about 2.5 hours without an issue. This same toy would go through 4 regular duracells in about 40 minutes....so I am already saving money and recovering what I spent on this set. There are more on the way...
Great starter kit to get into rechargeable...great value...and overall friendly to your wallet and the environment.

We were really getting sick of the Wii rechargeable batteries dying so quickly, and we were using a lot of conventional AA batteries as back-up which was very wasteful. Note that I discovered that though the Wii remotes use AA batteries, the recharge units use AAA's which last much less time.
Happily, I found the Eneloops on Amazon with rave reviews. Previously, I'd thought that rechargeables would either not last as long as a regular battery per charge or would simply get worse and worse till they wouldn't hold a charge at all.
Nope! These work like a champ. We only have four sets of the AA's (8 total) for the Wii remotes - and they're fantastic! We never have to revert to conventional for these again!
I bought 4 AAA's for my little Zeno mini, which previously wouldn't operate after about 8-10 uses on a new battery. The first few charges I used the Eneloops in the Zeno, it worked for about the same amount of time. But for some reason, it now lasts 15-18 or so uses. Sweet. Even if it didn't last long, I am happy I don't have to buy and throw away batteries so frequently.
Very happy with the Eneloops!

After buying our Wii System and seeing the need to use rechargable batteries, we purchased this package, on our daughter's recommendation, as a backup to the batteries and charger that we already had. With friends and family, our Wii System gets a lot of daily use, and batteries lasted only about 2-3 hours. We needed a backup charger or additional rechargable batteries to keep flashlights, cameras, and the Wii System powered. Our original charger just wasn't keeping-up.
We've been using the Sanyo Eneloop 4 Pack AA NiMH Pre-Charged Rechargable Batteries w/Charger for about a month now. It soon became our Primary charger and the Sanyo our batteries of choice. The batteries' charge lasts at least 50% longer (in our Wii games) than other brand batteries - and recharge quickly. We no-longer have Wii games interrupted by a need to replace batteries. One charge lasts for several hours of active use. I am very pleased with this product.

I am a dad with 2 kids. Two years ago I made the decision to switch to rechargeable batteries, because of the large number of AA batteries we were plowing through...
At the time, I read all the articles, and agonized over "which batteries, which charger, etc..".
This is just my follow up to say that I have been using the Eneloop batteries for the last 2 years (along with a MAHA MH-C401FS charger). They have been exactly what I needed. They hold a charge great, quick to recharge, and no hassles.
Most importantly, they just do what you need a rechargeable battery to do- WORK.
I pop these in my kid's camera, and they last for 2 months or more. If you have ever seen a kid play with a digital camera, you know that's impressive.
Anyway, I'm not an engineer, but I just wanted to throw out my own experience, and say that, yes, these do the trick.
Regarding the charger, the only down side that I have noticed is that the batteries can get warm when charging. However, I always charge on Fast mode, so I'm not exactly surprised.

I bought 4 of these along with charger last month and after testing these batteries I will definitely recommend these to anyone who needs long lasting and powerful batteries for their digital cameras. Here is what I did with these batteries.
I initially charged two AA Sanyo eneloop batteries, put them in my digital camera (FujiFilm FinePix AX250 14MP), started recording video and let the camera on tripod till the batteries were almost dead.
With just 2 x AA batteries I was able to record videos of almost 3 hours (actual 2 hours and 56 mins) plus I also transferred the videos to my laptop which took another 15 minutes and the LCD of my camera was also ON all the time. It took me about 8+ hours to completely charge the same 2xAA batteries with the Ni-MH charger (rated : AA = 300mA) that came along with these batteries. The charge time was a little longer than expected.
Although I will not be recording too many videos but this little experiment surely confirms how good these Sanyo eneloop batteries are for digital cameras.
