Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sanyo Eneloop AA NiMH Pre-Charged Rechargable Batteries with Charger - 4 PackCustomer Review: Fantastic Summary: 5 Stars
There is no substitute. Eneloops are the best product on the market by far. They charge quickly and hold a charge for an very long time. In my digital camera, they last longer than even the high-end alkaline batteries. The charger works more quickly than the similar Duracell.
A note of caution about knockoffs. Many other "pre-charged" batteries on the market are actually rebranded Eneloops. For a while, you could pay a lot less for the same batteries. Increasingly, however, these other brands are turning to Chinese made batteries. So far, these have not come close to the quality of the Japanese made Eneloop. Unless you're sure about where the battery comes from, you can waste a lot of money.

Customer Review: Good Buy Summary: 5 Stars
I don't know what is about these rechargeable batteries, but they work like a dream. They can sustain a charge for a very long time. I have been using them in my Cannon digital camera since June and I have not had any difficulty with them whatsoever. When I first got my camera, I bought some brand name regular digital camera batteries and they lasted all of one week and I found myself buying more and more and just tossing them after a few days or a week. So, I did my research and discovered the Eneloop. They charge in a decent amount of time, and the handy charger makes it easy to recharge them. It's not bulky or flimsy and it comes with a cover. But I have not found that I need to charge the batteries frequently to get maximum use. I don't use the camera frequently, but 2-3 times per month to snap pictures of my kid at various events, these batteries have never failed me though. I tried two other brands of rechargeable batteries, but these are the ones that performed the best. I bought them at a retail store based on reviews I read on Amazon and I needed them right away. But, the store was practically sold out--I guess I wasn't the only one desperate for Eneloop. But I eventually found some. And now that I'm having another kid, I'm gonna buy more for all of those baby toys that require batteries, which seems to be all of them!
Customer Review: Work really good so far. Summary: 5 Stars
I found these batteries by reading customer opinions. (That's why I take time to rate stuff. It helps the next guy) I have tried many different batteries. It seemed I was always rotating batteries. Camera, charger, camera. A real pain. And you get ready for that big one time picture and the camera stops you cold and says "Batteries Low". I thought that was just the deal until I bought these. I put them in the camera right out of the package weeks ago. Over a hundred pics. Using zoom, auto, flash. I just picked it up and snapped half a dozen for grins and chuckels and it worked fine, and the flash is still hot. I have no doubt these are the best for a camera user. If you are a pro they last longer, just more dependable. If you are like me and the camera may sit for weeks they are great because they are still hot. I bought a bunch and left four in a drawer just to see how they work a year from purchase. Oh yeah. The really cool part was they were cheaper. And I bought their charger because I don't know that yesterdays charger is set to charge these hotter batteries. I wish I could find one that had a real meter that would show actual numbers on a gauge. Not, orange, yellow, green. So far these have been the best I have found. That's after at least three different brands and maybe 50 battereies. Three different chargers.
Customer Review: Eneloop is missing something (Customer Service) Summary: 2 Stars
I am not denying the 'greatness' of this device, as others have reviewed. But I have yet to see this product perform. Unfortunately, there is no manufacturing date on the unit, so I have no idea how old they were. They arrived charged. When I inserted the first discharged ones into the charger, per the instructions, the charger did not light. When I discharged the second set, I tried to charge all four, but again, there is no LED activity on the charger.
I called their customer service, and it seems like this is slightly routine for them. So I will update this review once I received the replacement products. Maybe the newer set will work as swimmingly as others have stated. For now, I will say this first pack of 4 lasted only 25% as long as standard duracell.
UPDATE
I called their customer service, and not only were they dismissive to my non-threatening tone, but they said I would receive a reaplcement within 21 days. She gave me the RMA number and I sent these batteries in to their Chatsworth, CA depot. That was on Oct 12.
It is not December 11, and I have had no contact, nor replacement.
I am fairly patient, but this entire customer service organization should be fired, since they basically do not do their job. They wanted me to send the batteries into Chatsworth, CA.
Customer Review: Works well for my needs Summary: 5 Stars
NOTE: Review is for the AA batteries, if it matters.
I bought these batteries and the charger for one purpose, to replace the rechargeable battery pack in the controllers for my Xbox 360 console. That rechargeable battery pack was dying after only a week's use of moderate gaming.
Fresh out of the package, I was able to get two weeks use out of the Eneloop, without charging them. The difference in weight (the Eneloops weigh less than the regular battery pack) is also a nice benefit. I use my Xbox 360 about 3 hours each day, with slightly heavier usage on the weekends (about 5-6 hours per day). When not in use, I leave the batteries in my controllers, I do not take them out. And as stated previously, they have lasted about 2 weeks before needing to be recharged.
This leads me to believe that in a low drain device such as TV remotes, the Eneloops should last a few months if not longer. But this is just a hypothesis as I'm my results are skewed by my nightly gaming sessions, which obviously place a much larger drain on the battery's capacity. Still, getting double the amount of usage over the proprietary battery pack that costs about as much as this item.
Overall, I am very happy with their performance.
