Customer Review: A Great Rechargeable Battery Kit for anyone to own
Summary: 5 Stars

I've always been a fan of rechargeable batteries... every since I was a kid. It just seemed like a great idea which saves money, waste, and time. Old rechargeable battery technology suffered from a myriad of problems including the "memory effect", few recharge cycles, and fast battery depletion (even while not in use). The great thing is that all of these issues have since been addressed. I'm not saying that they're 100 percent fixed... but rather that they are no longer big issues. These new Eneloop batteries use "hybrid" rechargeable technology, which means that they will not drain like older rechargeable batteries do. The regular Nimh batteries drain quickly... even when they are just sitting around in a drawer. These Eneloop batteries have a very slow drain rate, so that even if they're sitting around within a whole year, they're still about 80% to 90% charged. Here are some pros and cons about this battery bundle:

Pros:
-Great Value for this amount of batteries, adapters, and charger.
-These batteries are among the best modern rechargeable batteries money can buy... quality wise.
-Charger takes AA and AAA batteries.

Cons:
-The charger will only charge batteries in pairs. Some chargers let you charge single individual batteries.

Conclusion:
This is a great kit to have for anybody who uses lots of batteries. The Battery Charger will charge any type of Nimh rechargeable battery , including batteries from other brands. Using rechargeable batteries is a great way to start "Going Green", and each battery can be recharged about a 1000 times. Just imagine how much less waste there would be if everyone used rechargeables instead of disposable one-time use batteries.

Customer Review: Charge is shorter than older rechargeables
Summary: 2 Stars

I ordered this pack, plus an extra pack of 6 Eneloop AA's 6 months ago based on the reviews. My older rechargables, which also came with their own brand charger, were over 2 years old and not keeping their charge as long - I always write the re-charge date so I can keep track. I use these only on our wireless keyboard and mouse's (we have 2 wireless mouse's).

Initially I was not impressed so I double-checked the review area and noted the batteries are not fully charged out of the box. So I began charging just prior to installing the batteries. Because I ordered 2 different packages of Eneloop AA's to test, it can't be that I got a bad batch. Our mouse's and keyboard lost charge at less than a month. I always turn my mouse's off after use, so the power won't be drained while not in use. I've tried charging the Eneloop's in the older charger, and the older batteries in the Eneloop charger - same results. This may be typical of Eneloop's, but my over 2-yr-old batteries hold a charge for a little over 2 months... significantly longer than the newer Eneloops.

If someone has any suggestions, I'd be happy to give these another chance.

EDIT:
I should have checked the mah rating on the older batteries - they are 2300 mah while the eneloops are 2000 mah, so the older batteries are a tad stronger... however, the first re-charge date was in 2006 (more than the 2 years I initially thought), so the older ones are well past their expire date at 4 years old. I would not recommend these batteries, but suggest looking for niMH rechargeables with a higher mah rating that are also slow self discharging. Not sure why my experience with these batteries has been opposite of others.

Customer Review: Best Battery as of 02/2010
Summary: 5 Stars

I've watched batteries go from Carbon to HD Carbon to Alkaline to NI-Cad to MiMH to Eneloops & Li-ions...

Each step better than the last, Alkilines gave us more power but were one time use, Ni-Cads gave us power and multi-use but had memory problems, NiMH gave us power, multi-use, no memry problems but lost power while being stored... then came the Eneloop & Litium Ion batteries... power, multi-use, no memory and shelf life!!!

The hybrid Enloop NiMH is the winner until the cost of Lithiums come down (try to find Lithium AAA, AA, C & D batteries), one advantage Lithium Ions have over the Enloop is there is no "Fade" towards the end of discharge which means you get full power up till the end at that point the cell is "dead" until you recharge.

As far as people complaning about the spacers not being "real" batteries or "WARNING- No C or D batteries included!"... like most of them own up to, it's their fault, not Sanyo or the seller. If they don't take the time to read the details, common sense should have told them you are not going to get 18 Enloop batteries for $32.99 especially if that includes 8 C & D cells. (When 4 single Enelopp AAs are currently being sold for $9 to $15)

I'm not trying to be rude, but buy your stuff at a brick & mortar to see it in person if you are not going to do a little comparison research before hitting the "Submit Order" Button.

Eneloops are the current best value... period.

Customer Review: Fantastic batteries..

I bought the silver and orange Sony rechargeable batteries and charger from Amazon for my Fuji A350 last year, but never could depend on them. Even after sitting and charging overnight I never could take more than 12 to 18 pictures before the batteries died. And, after two days or so, just sitting and not being used at all, they died completely. I even bought a new Sony charger, but that didn't change anything.

I burned up many standard AA alkaline batteries while owning over $65.00 worth of rechargeable crap that didn't work.

I bought my wife a Canon Powershot S5 IS camera for her birthday last September, along with the Canon Battery and Charger Kit (CBK4-300), and several lenses. But even those batteries were not reliable, and my wife takes a lot of pictures and video. So, I came across the reviews on the Sanyo Eneloop Power Pack and Charger Kit, and purchased that in mid-October of last year.

Tonight, for the first time, I had to put four new, unused Sanyo Eneloop batteries into her camera while I'm charging the first four that went into her camera almost three months, 500+ pictures, and about two hours worth of video ago. Fantastic, amazing, incredible, etc....Pick your choice of words. They really work, and keep on working after all other rechargeable batteries that I've tried fail miserably.

Customer Review: A must have for parents!
Summary: 4 Stars

I've been looking for rechargeable batteries for a while now and after reading all of the reviews for these and all of the other brands of rechargeable batteries, I decided on these. They have a great variety of batteries in one package that no one else offers. I have 3 kids and lots of electronics and toys that eat batteries like crazy and I was sick of throwing away money on batteries all the time. These batteries take about 7 hours to fully charge. The charger blinks when the batteries are charging and stop blinking to let you know when they are charged which is nice. I have a newborn swing that requires D batteries and what I think is the collest thing about this package is that all you do is take one AA battery and stick it in the included adapters and it becomes a "D" battery! This package does not include any D or C batteries so don't get confused! It just includes the adapters that you stick charged AA batteries in. The only thing about using a AA battery for this is that they don't last as long, I have to change them every 2 days for my sons swing but it's much better than buying new batteries every few weeks. They are also great for my other sons leapster, Wii remotes, and other toys and electronics that require frequent battery changes. So stop throwing away money and go with these rechargeable batteries! GREAT BUY
