This TV tuner isn't the best you can find, but it does its job. You get what you pay for is what I am trying to get at. It records what you want and the mobility of a USB 2.0 tuner sure beats having to place it into a PCI slot in a PC. It doesn't have HD capabilities, so I am personally deeming this tuner obsolete to today's standards, but if Standard Definition is good enough for you, this tuner is at best a lukewarm deal. Suggest you fork over an extra 25 dollars and get a TV tuner with HD, at least 720p.Customer Review: Nice little vid capture

Took it out of the box, put in the CD and installed the driver, hooked up my video camera and plugged it all in. Wham bam, I was converting my Hi8 tapes to mpeg on my computer. The unit has an RCA port for video, but a mini port for audio, you'll need to get an adapter for that if you have an RCA plug for audio. Other than that it has everything you need other than an antenna. If you have a VCR, just use the coax cable. I'm using a Dell laptop running XP. If you have Vista, you have my condolences.Customer Review: This only works for Analog TV

I was going to buy this but after looking at all the trouble reported here, I went to the manufacturer's website. It states "Watch and record your favorite NTSC Analog TV station, where available; in the United States, this feature is limited mostly to Cable and Satellite since over-the-air broadcasting has migrated to ATSC Digital (see Sabrent model TV-USBHD)." Not much use in the US for TV reception or recording unless you still have access to a cable system that carries analog signals.Customer Review: It good way to use on laptop.

This small machine had 480i resolution, not HD. it good for when you want to play game, but someone's using the TV. Your laptop pc it a good choice for secodary TV. It watchble,recordble, and use any where. It is a good chice when you using for tv without have fight for the tv, because your pc could be your second way to tv.
P.S. it good when you have a small speaker on the side, because you don't want to connect to Tvbox audio when using as tv, not record any thing.

For 30 bucks, you really can't expect too much. I was pleasantly surprised with the picture quality. I'm deployed to the middle east right now, and this is serving me great! I couldn't get a tv for this price. It's compact, and the picture quality is what you would expect from a low end model. My only complait is I had to actually go online to download the Vista drivers. With the slow conection I have here, that initself is a chore. Besides that, great product for the money!
