I have a set of 2.1 Logitech computer speakers I wanted to connect to my Samsung television so they could be used as the sound output for my Apple TV. I wasn't sure exactly what I would need, and eventually was recommended this cord. It does exactly what I had hoped it would do, allowing my unused computer speakers to become my television's speakers, all without the hassle of multiple cables.
Setup took fewer than five minutes; after connecting the end that ordinarily plugs into my laptop's headphone jack into the "female" end of the cable, and the two "male" ends into the back of my television, I was completely set up.
The speakers and the subwoofer sound great, exactly as they do when plugged into my laptop as they are intended to be. There is no sound loss or distortion with this cable, which is something I was concerned about.
