Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Premier Mounts AM2 Swing-Out Arms For 17-Inch to 40-Inch LCD Screens (Silver)Customer Review: Sturdy and easily posed Summary: 5 Stars
The gem of this mount is the swivel plate that attaches to the TV. It's a dish mounted in a little bowl and can pivot about 5 degrees up and down, and its rotation is only restricted by the cables connected to your TV. The display I have mounted on it is the Olevia 323v, a 27" LCD. I use it as a computer monitor and a gaming display. As a computer monitor, it's useful sometimes to rotate it 90 degrees to see a PDF in portrait view, and it's great to be able to tilt and angle it to face any point in the room squarely. I even rotated it so that it matched the angle of my head as I lay on my bed, to save my neck as I watched a long film. The rest of the arm is very sturdy and mounts by five thick wood screws into a stud in the wall. I'll be keeping this one wherever I move.
Customer Review: Sturdy Mount Summary: 5 Stars
I used the Premier AM2 to mount a Panasonic 26" LCD which is spec'd to weigh 31 pounds. Installation in my workshop was straight forward, as I have exposed 2x4's for shelving. The provided mounting screws can be used if a socket wrench phillips head drive bit is used to drive the screw, although hex head lag screws would be easier. Using a screwdriver would be very difficult. The AM2 mount easily supports the 31 pound TV and repositioning is very smooth with no free play. Friction adjustments of the pivot points and especially the pivot head is very easy. The only concern is the screws that hold the VESA plate to the pivot/tilt head seem small (M4x5 mm), but after two months of use the installation still appears to be sturdy and of high quality.
Customer Review: Outstanding LCD wall mount-heavy duty Summary: 4 Stars
I am very impressed with how well made this wall mount kit is and how easy it was to attach to the wall. This wall mount is attractive, very versatile, and can handle much more than the standard weight of most LCD displays. I attached a 19" Samsung widescreen to the mount and it handles the display with no problem. The mount folds flat against the wall when not in use and the articulating arm allows you to position the display at various angles for best viewing. As others have reported, I had to replace the screws which came with the unit with ones which were more heavy duty to secure the mount to the wall stud. I am extremely satisfied with the Premier AM2 and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quality mount for their LCD.
Customer Review: Works great with my 19" Samsung Summary: 5 Stars
I received this as a Christmas gift, from my Amazon wish list. I'd been wanting to mount a 19" Samsung LCD in my bedroom since I bought it a year ago. I'm impressed with how sturdy this is, though my 19" TV isn't anywhere near the weight limit at 11.5lb. I feel confident I can mount a larger tv, up to the 50lb weight limit, down the road.
My only difficulty with mounting to a wall stud was getting the screws into the wood. I ended up using a larger pilot hole than suggested, and still couldn't hand tighten them all the way. Luckily I had a heavy duty drill with screw attachment that did the job. I wish the mount had come with a hex nut screw instead. A socket wrench would have then sufficed for the installation.
Customer Review: Premier AM2 Mount Very Good Summary: 4 Stars
This is an excellent mount for the price, especially from this site, but the manufacturers instructions are deceiving. First, they say that the mount is VESA 200x200 compatible. I just bought a 32 in Samsung LCD in April which has a VESA 200x200 mounting setup and it did not fit without the Premier adapter plate. Luckily i had ordered the plate just in case. Overall the mount has a great appearance and seems to be very sturdy...I certainly hope so considering it is holding up my brand new tv. I would recommend this to anyone, but their instructions are horrible and if you have a vesa 200 200 setup get the adapter plate. installlation time isnt too bad, just requires some extra tools and screws and lots of patience
