Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Premier Mounts AM2 Swing-Out Arms For 17-Inch to 40-Inch LCD Screens (Silver)Customer Review: Not a good fit for Dell monitors Summary: 3 Stars
I bought two of these to mount Dell 2001FP and 2407WFP LCD monitors. On these monitors, the VESA mounting holes are in a square recess left by the monitor stand's mounting plate. While the mounting arm's mounting plate will fit into the recess (barely), the holes do not match up. I had to go to the hardware store and pick up some nylon spacers and longer m4 screws to extend the monitors' mounting holes out so they were flush with the back of the displays.
That specific compatibility issue aside, the arms work well. The cable management is OK for cables that have small connectors, but not for anything larger than a power cable. A DVI connector, for instance, will not fit through the openings. It's not a big deal, though. Strapping the cables to the outside of the arm works just fine, and you can't see it from the front anyway.
Customer Review: A couple of thoughts before purchasing Summary: 5 Stars
FWIW This mount is very large. I recommend that you check out the dimensions before purchasing. It certainly gave me confidence that it would hold up a tv. And it is able to conceal the cords in its hollow (oversized) tubing. But IMHO it would have been a bit of a distraction holding up our smallish 19" LCD in our kitchen.
It is also a unique color - a bright greyish silver. Not a chrome or stainless steel silver which would have better matched cabinet hinges and such.
On the plush side it is more stylish than many of the more industrial looking mounts. The screws are concealed and all of the lines are smooth.
I returned the mount for a smaller one. I wouldn't disuade anyone from purchasing what seems to be an excellent mount but wanted to provide a couple of things to think about.
Customer Review: High Quality, Great Deal Summary: 5 Stars
The mount arm is very solid, looks good and supports my 26" lcd very well. A very simple and strong design.
As other reviews have mentioned, you need to buy another set of screws for installation. I tried to use the screws that came with it, and even after predrilling holes and using a screwdriver instead of a drill, I either stripped the screws or snapped the heads off. I also used the enclosed plate adapter for larger tv's with larger VESA mounts - again simple and effective.
I do recommend using a stud finder as to find a strong place to mount in your wall. Since the arm is so flexible, you will want to swing you TV in a differennt directions. Oeverall very happy with the build quality of the arm itself, and would recommend it to any one based on it's quality and cost.
Customer Review: Very Solid, very heavy, great for the price Summary: 5 Stars
I recently bought a wall mount for my 24" monitor. It was one available at Sam's club. Unfortunately the tilt and pan function on that mount was poorly designed.
In my frustration I discovered this mount which is quite a bit nicer. Very heavy and exceedingly solid. Nicely machined and well thought out.
The big plus however is the pan and tilt, perfectly designed for literally any position (including portrait). Unlike most of the competitors this mount uses a ball style swivel where it mounts to the monitor making for infinite position choices.
My only complaint is that the wall side of the arm is a bit wide, but that's a minor complaint.
Don't hesitate and don't bother being tempted by most other mounts that go for twice the money.
Customer Review: Excellent! Summary: 5 Stars
As with all mounts, wall studs determine your ultimate location. Make sure you're realistic with your final location (especially with a swing arm mount). That being said, this mount is great! It took less than 5 minutes to install (after deliberating where to locate it). The enclosed mounting screws are way more than sufficient as long as you have a decent screw gun. Don't bother ordering an adapter plate either, as one is provided. I mounted a 26" Samsung LCD that I swing about 90 degrees and tilt slightly down to view in bed. Looks great, it's beefy, the tension is completely adjustable and the Amazon price blows away the $129 Sears/K-Mart price. I looked at everything before ordering. This mount can't be touched even when comparing to significantly more expensive units.
