Rather than plug the camera to a USB cord, I take out the xd card and use a card reader. For me, it beats having the camera there on my desk waiting for all the pictures to come out.
The only problem I have had is that the card readers that are multi use are a bit confusing, and a bit weaker physically. You have to find which port you need on a multi card, and the plastic between ports can break off.
We only have olympus cameras here, so buying an xd card reader was a good step for me. I am far away, and buying online was my only choice. Luckily, this unit is strong, easy to use, and well built. I recommend it for anyone who needs to extract data from an xd card.
