i have this on the carpet , next to my night stand. my son plugs his laptop charger to it so the surge is practically pulled out in the middle of the floor. this unit works great, looks great but being in the middle of the carpet floor, it looks quite messy.Customer Review: Squids Rule

I have a lot of electronics that have those big bulky square brick plugs. This works great. It's bulky but it's much better than a bunch of regular surge protectors all daisy chained together because each can only handle 2-3 of those bulky plugs.Customer Review: Perfect for those large brick power adapters

I've used a few of these for a couple of years now and am very pleased. The rating is not as high as it could be, but I use it for the things on my beside table that are all low voltage. This includes my cell phone, mp3 player, pocket pc, phone, lamp, and other similar items.
No, it's not small and not really pretty (it is a surge protector after all, not an accessory item for your living room). However, I don't lose one or two plug-ins due to a large brick style plug either like I did with the standard power strip/surge protector. I keep it under the table and out of the way. I will say that it has a rather bright light which is squelched by virtue of being under the table.
Previously, I used the power liberator plugs to eliminate the issue but I really like this instead. Amazon's price is excellent as well!
