Customer Review: Suprisingly loud and clear. Ergonomics disappointing

I was amazed the first time i turned this little pocket dynamo on! The sound was incredibly loud for such a small device. Absolutely no jarring at full volume. Full marks on performance, as well as finish and ruggedness
Now for the ergonomics part -
1.The on/off switch can be accessed only when the speaker is unzipped
2.The batteries drain when you forget to turn off the speaker (just turning the ipod off isnt enough). You can easily forget this, and its a pain to unzip anyway
3. There is no DC in option - batteries are the only way to run this speaker
4.Removing and reinserting the ipod for charging is quite a task.
Sad thing is that 1 and 2 are such simple yet glaring oversights. Hope this will be fixed in the next version. Then its a fiver all the way baby!

This is a great system to play your I-Pod on the go. I have tried several other speakers at more than twice the price with only half the volume.Very easy to operate and the speaker box is both small and durable.
The best part is the way you can really turn up the sound level and still get crisp clear sound. When the sound starts to get distorted you easily pop in new batteries and the sound explodes again.
My friends and I take it out to the golf course and we always have to be aware of the volume as you can hear the music from a good distance.
Fits different styles of I-Pods and holds them securely while allowing easy acess to the controls.
Everyone who hears the loud and clear sound from such a small box wants to know where to get one.
Overall a great speaker with no downside.

The sound that comes out of this portable speaker is GREAT. No doubt about it. I use it with my iPod, with my iPhone as well as with my laptop when playing movies. Great sound.
The speaker does however, lack controls. With your MP3 player installed, there's a thin plastic covering the face of the music controls and the idea is that the iPod/iPhone will respond to touch through this plastic to allow you to control content (song, album etc.) and speaker volume.
In reality however, it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to switch song and raise or lower volume. Impossible.
I think the only way around this, is to cut off the plastic.
To improve this speaker, they should AT LEAST add volume control to the speaker hardware.
Customer Review: nice sound, but inside plastic ipod enclosure dislodged after one week

i like the bass and crisp treble from this little portable, but the glue that holds the plastic enclosure for the ipod came apart after one week of use.
there is a velcro strap to secure the ipod inside and you need it secure so that the ipod doesnt move around while you access your music from outside the portable's clear plastic. however, the tighter you strap down your ipod, the more you warp the inside plastic enclosure which is probably what caused the glue to break and dislodge the entire ipod enclosure.
i think a little super glue will fix mine, but future buyers should note the build quality. even without the glue, i can still secure my ipod inside and zip up the portable with a bit of adjustment.

I purchased the iSound and was definitely impressed. Fell in love with it. The ISound Audio Vault I purchased was pink. I decided I wanted it in black.I sold my pink one. When searching for the black ISound unit, I found the IMaingo. After reading the reviews for the IMaingo, I decided to purchase it. Actually, I believed it would be equal to the ISound. I had little faith, but purchased it anyway. Visually, it looked like the same unit. To my surprise, the IMaingo won! The sound is awesome! Much clearer and crisper. The bass is awesome. Also, the volume is much louder. It was worth the investment. As said in another review.."you get what you pay for". It protects my 80gb Ipod. I LOVE MY IMAINGO. I can't put it down!!!!
