Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Polycom Communicator C100S USB Speakerphone for Skype-Grey

Customer Review: Great but no Vista support
Summary: 2 Stars

Working under XP I really liked this device. But if you use or change to Vista, forget it! From the Polycom website "Current Communicator C100S software supports Windows® XP only. Support for Windows Vista® operating systems is planned for Late 2008." So, for the rest of this year (*if* Polycom sticks to its schedule!) this is a boat anchor for most of the PCs shipped today (and for the past year).

Customer Review: Polycom communicator
Summary: 1 Stars

The Polycom communicator is a well made unit, unfortunately the audio out was reported from all my Skype contacts as weak, I ended up holding the unit in my hand close to my mouth so that my contacts could hear me. Not much use as a hands free speaker phone. I prefer the Logitech EasyCall desktop kit at half the price which comes with a cordless keyboard, wireless mouse and excellent speaker phone.

Customer Review: Bait and Switch by Polycom
Summary: 3 Stars

When I purchased this product, the Polycom website said that Mac support was coming mid 2007.

Mid 2007, the site was updated to say that Mac support would be coming late this year.

Now, the site says Mac support is not planned.

---

I have purchased 5 of these in anticipation of Mac support.

I will not trust this company ever again.

Customer Review: Skype goodess in an easy travel package
Summary: 5 Stars

This product makes Skype positively easy to use. It has such good sound quality that the person on the other end sounds like they're right beside you. Having the sound device separate from the computer's sound card really makes setup and use as easy as it can possibly be. I installed three more of these for co-workers. I even got one for my boss, so you KNOW how much I like it!

Customer Review: Obsolete
Summary: 1 Stars

Only correctly works with Windows XP - how laughable. Even more absurd is Polycom support's communication regarding this laziness forcing regular users to secretly upload beta versions of Vista drivers to RapidShare in order to help other people try and get this to work. Also, (obviously I guess) echo cancellation only works with Skype. If there ever was a one-trick pony, this is it.
