This works great. I use it in my home office, but have also used it in a meeting room that is much larger than the specs say it is designed for. We had about 10 people, anywhere from 2' to 15' from the speakerphone, and it worked fine. The soft-spoken people at the far distance were hard for the person on the other end to hear, but that would have been true with any speakerphone. Polycom makes great high-end speakerphones, but this shows their low end ones are good too.Customer Review: XP Great! But - No support for Win 7 or Mac

Used often with old XP laptop and worked wonderfully. Just like an office unit. Can't use it anymore though.
Have a Win 7 laptop and a Mac now. C100S has limited marginal functionality from generic drivers, but performs poorly and is truly featureless.
Polycom support is flippant. Advised me to submit a feature request on first go, and said same on escalation.
It's too bad because C100S could provide superior control, calling audio and mic.

Wonderful sound quality when used with Windows XP. We could sit it in the middle of a meeting of a dozen people and the person at the other end could hear everything very clearly without anyone having to raise their voice..
However, under Vista and Win7, while the unit will work, the sound quality (particularly as a microphone, the speaker is fine) is quite mediocre and whoever is at the other end of the conversation usually complains frequently.

The Polycom C100S was designed for Windows XP and works well running on the XP operating system. It "may" work with Vista. I got it to work as a speaker and microphone, but not an integrated speakerphone like when it is used with XP. I still have problems with the Polycom USB driver that was loaded when I used Polycom's Beta Vista installation program. None of the advertisements that I found mentioned that it does not work well with Windows Vista.Customer Review: Buy for XP only

As many others have mentioned, this is a very bizarre situation. The device is high quality when used with XP. Switching to Vista causes a marked downgrade in sound quality and functionality. If you are not using XP or planning to upgrade out of XP, I would advise not getting this product.
It is a shame that such a nice piece of hardware is thrown out based on software issues.
