These speakers were upgrades for the builder grade in ceiling speakers. Even though they are rear speakers there is a noticeable difference in the quality, preciseness, and crispness in their output. They are not over priced and they are a quality product, a combination that cannot be beat. I plan on replacing all of my in ceiling speakers with these. I purchased 4 of these speakers and installed them in my living room. Yes, there are better speakers, but for this price, they are great speakers. Bass and treble are to my satisfaction. Like other reviewers, the speaker's grilles are somewhat difficult to get off, so use caution removing them, as you can dent or scratch the grille if being too forceful.Customer Review: Delighted

I put 5 pairs of these in various rooms in our house, and am delighted with the sound. Highly recommended.
I do concur with the points another reviewer made: the cutout templates provide for a tight fit (cut the outside of the line when installing), and the grills are a real pain to get in and out - Polk should look at this last issue.

Got these along with Polk RC65i's as front and center channel speakers and they are great! I have a full home theater set up with a panasonic 1080p projector 120 inch screens, so I did a lot of research before I got these. They were also recommended by Circuit City's firedog intstall team. Great value and great service from Amazon!
