Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Polk Audio RC6s In-Ceiling Stereo Speaker (Single, White)Customer Review: Good for the Money Summary: 4 Stars
This speaker is designed specifically for a situation where stereo sound is not optimal; for example, in the kitchen or dining room. By placing a left and right channel tweater, the sound is mixed in a single speaker. This does mean you have to run both the left and right channel wire to the speaker. The best use of this speaker is to have non-directional sound in each room rather than to blast your one stereo in order to hear it from every room.
The size of the woofer is, of course, going to limit the bass response. Heavy bass listeners should add a dedicated sub or at least consider in-wall speakers with larger woofers. The speaker does not come with on-speaker eq's. I recommend using an eq at the stereo base to balance the speaker in order to obtain full statisfaction of the sound. It initially was heavy in the highs (as expected when using two tweeters and only one small sub). Don't get me wrong, it's not hard to have a nice, balanced sound from the RC6's.
Over all I'm very happy with the quality and sound. It works great for parties, gatherings, and general listening when I don't feel like being tied down to a seat. The price vs. quality compares to that of many more expensive models. Of course, for serious listening (audiophile and/or home theater), just about every model by every company of in-ceiling/wall speakers obviously won't do.

Polk Audio RC6s In-Ceiling Stereo Speaker (Single, White)
Just what the doctor ordered. Perfect for a small room such as a bathroom, or a walk in closet where 2 speakers just don't make sense.
Please note: this is a STEREO speaker (left & right channels in one housing).
The audio quality is great for what it is designed to do. It's hard to discern stereo sound from this as the the speakers are not spaced far enough apart. But in this application, the bathroom, is it really necessary? Is the work worth the reward? More important; the wife is very happy. She can hear the radio, CD player or the TV when she gets ready in the morning and is not all that concerned with left and right channels. Happy wife = Mission accomplished.
Installation of the speaker itself was easy, follow the advice of another review and have enough wire slack to reach the top of the step ladder. One of the nicer templates that I have used. I cut the hole with a sheetrock saw, and the speaker fit better than OJs glove. A nice, clean look to it when it's finished.
Customer Review: Great flush mount speakers Summary: 5 Stars
We recently moved to a new office and I bought 6 of these speakers to provide background music throughout the building. They were easy to install and I have each powered by a separate Pyle PTA2 Mini 2x40W Stereo Power Amplifier. (The amps have pre-amp level inputs and output so they can be daisy chained back to a pre-amp or a single pre-amp level source such as an iPod or in my case, a Sirius radio receiver.) The sound quality is great and the combined cost for each amp-speaker unit was less than $125. Although they are usually played at low volume, they also sound great if I crank them up after hours. Would highly recommend these speakers for similar home or office applications.
Customer Review: Great value for the $ Summary: 5 Stars
I was looking for speakers to put in my suspended ceiling (basement). The finished area is about 48' long by 15' wide. I wanted the stereo sound in one unit to make the sound more uniform (also easier to run a single 4-wire cable). I installed 3 of these evenly spaced (right down the middle of the room) and it fills the area with sound. I don't think any ceiling speaker will knock your socks off with huge volume. But if you are looking for casual listening, these are great speakers. If going into a suspended ceiling you should get a "tile bridge" to help support them. I also used some inexpensive fiberglass insulation on the joists to help with bass, and keep sound from coming upstairs.
Customer Review: POLK RC80i in ceiling speakers pair - good speakers, very easy installation Summary: 5 Stars
I'm not a huge audio person, but I also don't want anything that sounds cheap in my home.
I had to buy 2 sets of CEILING speakers one set for rear surround sound speakers and one set for a separate pool room. I bought and installed these in the pool room. Installation was quick and straight forward. The speakers were larger than I had anticipated which made me a little nervous, but I don't even notice them now. They sound great to me.
I also paid double for a pair of Bose speakers for the rear surround sound. I REALLY wish I had skipped the extra expense and just bought these instead for that room too.
