Customer Review: Great for the price; just don't play them too loud

For the low price of under $100, these are superb for a single purpose. For us, that purpose is soft, quiet background music in a formal dining room that is not used very often. If you intend to play louder or try to fill a room or section of your house, these speakers will not do well. They get muddy at higher volumes and do not have good bass.
But, for a small space where you only need background music, these can't be beat for the price. Once your hole is cut, these install easily. Cutting the hole is a project in and of itself. Be careful!

Tried to install on my dry wall ceiling (7cm from a concrete ceiling) and discovered that the speaker depth is not like published online (nor in the documentation that came with the product).
Finally after a failure to carve in the concrete ceiling, I used a with sponge to extract the speaker 12mm from the ceiling.
Other than that surprise, the installation when OK and the sound is great (for surround speaker)
The price is fare.
All in all this product is positioned well on the value/cost axis.

I installed these in my basement workshop, where I have no room for speakers, but wanted to hear music without adding stuff to the room. The mounting system for these is poorly explained in the manual, but actually quite easy to achieve once you figure out how it works. Once I had them installed, I was quite impressive with the audio quality, while keeping in mind that these are only $100 for the pair--you're not going to get high end sound at this price point. I plan to buy another pair and look at some higher end Polk built-ins for other applications.Customer Review: Solid sound, great value for surrounds / whole house audio

I am using 4 of these speakers in my theater as surround and rear speakers. I am a perectionist when it comes to sound in my theater, but the fact is that the fidelity requirements for surround / rear speakers are pretty minimal. These speakers are plenty large for the task (in all but the largest rooms) and I'd give them a 7/10 for sound quality. We spray painted the grills on ours to match the ceiling color and they blend in perfectly. I have also used these speakers in whole house audio applications with good results. We needed 3 pairs of speakers for our home. I wasn't sure whether they would work for the entire house so I bought one pair to test in the dining room. I tested them before installing and in most cases, the bass was still great. Once installed, the sound was perfect. For the money, you can't go wrong. Great sound quality with all types of music and works great with my 7 year old Sony 5.1 100w/channel receiver. Installation was pretty simple in our drywall ceiling.
I am going to order 2 more sets to install in the other rooms.
