Customer Review: Work Perfectly in the Kitchen
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought these for my wife to use in the kitchen and installed them in the cabinets. They work great for ambient background music. I liked that they're flat all the way across and blend in unlike the Pyle PDIC80 I was considering. At 9in from edge to edge they were overall a little bit bigger than I was expecting. I paired them with the AudioSource AMP-100 2-Channel Amplifier. I don't know if it's the amp or the speakers but while they're loud enough for the kitchen I do have to have them turned up almost full blast. I don't know what the RMS is but peak is rated at 40 watt and the amp is rated at 50 watt RMS per channel.

[Edit] I did some more listening today and the quietness was due to the source. They're plenty loud now and they sound fantastic.

Customer Review: Extremely happy with the RC80i and RC60i speakers
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased these last December, 2007 from Amazon and after all these months I have been completely satisfied with the Polk Audio brand. I will agree with the others that the included templates make a tight fit. It is not to much more work to slowly chisel away to get that perfect fit though. I never did anything like this before and I'm completely amazed of the outcome. You can't go wrong with the template, just make sure you go in the attic and clear out any insulation that might fall on you.

This was my setup for the home theater and my wife and I are completely happy with the sound, look, and would purchase Polk Audio again.

Customer Review: Good surround speakers
Summary: 4 Stars

I've had these speakers for about a year now. They're high quality, easy to install, and pretty decent sound. These are good surround speakers. You have to remember that when you set your expectations for their sound. They work well and I haven't had any problems out of them, but they're pretty limited in their sound field. They do the job well for surround speakers, but if you have powerful towers, you may want to consider the 8" version of these. These have served me well, but at times get a bit overpowered by the front 3 speakers and the sub.

Again, no real complaints. Good quality, decent sound, but just remember you're buying a 6.5" speaker.

Customer Review: Polk never disappoints!
Summary: 4 Stars

Bought as ceiling surround-rear drivers for a 7.1 home theater. Very good timbre for such a price point. Good match for Polks RTi series. Be careful removing the steel grilles. DO NOT do what Polk suggests by using a paper clip. I did and spent time with a body-buck and hammer flattening out the distortion the paper clip caused. You might as well use an axe! There are four clamp-screws that need to be accessed from the front. Use these four screws to gently push the grill out from behind. Once you get the grill out a quarter-inch, you can peel it out the rest of the way from the front. Hope this prevents the a little aggravation. Buy these speakers.

Customer Review: Installation tips
Summary: 5 Stars

I don't have the right amplifier yet to judge the soud,Sound quality is good, installation is easy, and here sharing two tips:
(1) Template for cutting - for cutting out the dry wall, use the *outside* hole (the bigger hole), not the inside hole. Insert the template through the speaker to feel how much extra margin you need.
(2) Remove the metal grid - the best advise (in previous review from William) is first un-lock the four plastic clips (later used to lock to the dry wall), then push the clips from the back-side, and the metal grid will pop out. Don't try to poke or fish the grid from the small holes from the front side!
