Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Pioneer PDP-5070HD PureVision 50-Inch Plasma HDTVCustomer Review: PIONEER PDP 50" PLASMA..."SIMPLY THE BEST" Summary: 5 Stars
With absolutely no idea about plasma,LCD,"CRT" TV screens be they flat, curved, diagonal etc and equally no clue on costs - getting educated was easy thru Amazon's access to the best product base thru out the USA -technical info in laymans language was impressive. Additionally, comparison of brands by quality, price and supplier was surprisingly simple. You can see why the Pioneer PDP 50" is a little pricier than other brands; This is the "Porsche" of Plasma TVs - not only fine looking(best slim design with glossy black border)the qaulity of vision (clarity, definition, color, focus) is really absolutely breathtaking; movies come across better than the cinema screen; Sports and talk shows are like watching live. I cannot imagine how I did without it for so long.
Customer Review: burn in Summary: 1 Stars
've had the set for 4 months, and while the picture is fantastic, I have numerous logos, marks, bars, etc. burned into the screen. They are really quite annoying. I try not to leave anything on the screen for any length of time, but there are few networks or shows left on commercial television that do not always have some kind of banner or logo up. I thought the commercial breaks or occassionally switching channels would protect the screen, but no such luck. The worst so far is Speedvision. I now have thier logo burned into the screen. I guess it was so gradual I wasn't catching it creeping in, but now it is very prominent. In hindsight, I would trade the richer color of the plasma for the durability of the LCD format. This will be my last plasma set.
Customer Review: Absolute Best Plasma Around!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I researched several models including the Samsung, Philips, Panasonic, and LG. The Pioneer just topped the stats, but you paid at least 1G more. I wasn't sure how the actual performance would be, but the Pio surpassed all expectations (even on broadcasting regular channels...). Pio's TV Guide function works great, along with the way it picks up all channels (even HD) without a box is amazing! I highly recommend it if you have the extra cash, in the long run it's really worth the extra 1G.
Shipping
I had an awesome experience with Amazon's shipping - it's first class all the way and it's completely insured. They make sure you're happy when it arrives and unpack it too! Highly recommend it.
Thanks.
Customer Review: Wonderful! Summary: 5 Stars
The delivery service called to schedule a delivery time a day in advance. They assisted in unpacking the unit and making sure there was no damage in shipping. Superb service. I subscribe to HD service through Charter cable. In our area nobyd knew anything about the cable card option so I just settled for them providing me the standard HD set box....which works fine. Charter's website does state if you have a unit that can accept a cable card, the monthly charge is a bit less, but then I also undetand I can't get their channel guide and extra info that the setbox gives. HD is as big a difference as going from a black and white tv to color was in the sixties!
The picture and color are magnificent!
Customer Review: GREAT TV!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
This TV is awesome! Can't say anything bad about it. As many others have, I compared this one to the Panasonic and even the Samsung plasmas. I have to say that the picture on this TV is great. HD looks great, SD looks good and even the dreaded analog signals don't look bad. DVDs on the TV look flawless (I am using the HDMI input set to 1080i). I have the constrast turned down still as I am still in my first 200 hours of use but it still looks great! Delivery, as most say about this set, went without issues. They brought the TV in, unpacked it and powered it for me. They even moved it into another room for me when I asked! If picture quality is what you are looking for then look no further then the PDP-5070HD!!
