Customer Review: Amazing Plasma TV

This is one of the best plasmas available today. The price is a bit higher than some other manufacturers, but it's totally worth it. The piano black finish surrounds the picture - which really makes the images pop. There are many plugins for peripherals and the quality is fantastic. Unfortunately, I had ordered this TV from amazon.com just before Christmas and the shipping date was supposed to be on December 28th. On the 29th, I received an email from amazon.com that the shipment would be dealyed until mid-late january (6 days after my initial order was confirmed). If you order this TV through amazon, make sure that you verify availability and shipping date. I did cancel my order and purchased through another vendor. Also - amazon.com IS authorized to sell Pioneer products - make sure you use an authorized vendor. If you don't, the 1 year warranty will not be recognized by Pioneer (unauthorized online vendors do NOT tell you that up front). First off I purchased the new Panasonic 50" tv because it at the time was $450 cheaper. I quickly realized how big of a mistake that was. The panasonic had a great picture but was overtaken by the BUZZING NOISE I kept hearing from the back of the TV. The TV was just awful. During a basketball game it became so distracting. So I went to Bestbuy who changed it out without asking any questions. They were very understanding and gave me the Pioneer PDP-5070 TV for about another $300. Once delivered and hooked up I was blown away. The picture is so much better than the Panasonic. There is no sound coming from the back of the TV (no buzzing noise). Was such a great picture and the sound that comes from those speakers is just amazing. I would recommend this TV to anyone looking. Trust me you do not want to cheap out on something of this caliber. I am very please with BestBuy and this TV very much. This TV met all of my expectations, get into the HD world!!!Customer Review: Absolutely Stunning

My wife and I researched flat panel T.V.'s for several months before moving into our new house. The Pioneer PDP-5070 came out at the top of our list but was too expensive to consider at a B&M store. Then Amazon runs a sale for almost $1000 less...well we went for it, having never purchased something so expensive online. The T.V. arrived in 4 days using super-saver shipping (5 days early!) and was in perfect working order upon arrival. All I can say is WOW! Now that the TV is in our living room, it is simply breathtaking. Pioneer is certainly the most expensive brand, but it is absolutely worth it. The picture quality is stunning, and surpasses all of our expectations. Be sure to lookup the D-Nice settings thread on avsforum.com for the break-in settings, as these will dramatically improve the color depth and brightness levels on the panel as delivered.
We are very happy with our purchase, and with Amazon! What a great experience!

Purchased through Amazon not a reseller just in case something went wrong or I needed warranty service. Also, used AMEX and doubled the warranty to two years at no additional charge. Product arrived early in time for me to watch the Patriots agonizing loss in purfect clarity! Delivered to my living room set on the corner case and the trash taken away. I have nothing bad to say about this TV! Its really great - clear - fast - smooth easy to set up I use a cable card and the TV guide program is cool. . A few words about recievers though. Make sure you get one that has HDMI uplink if not (like my bottom of the line Elite Pio) you have to continually hit input to find the TV picture (drag for the wife). Lastly (this is important!) Amazon has a 30 day price gaurantee - If the AMAZON price goes down within 30 days of order they refund you the difference - for me that's been $260! You have to call customer service in order to get the savings though - just FYICustomer Review: LOVE IT!!

Ordered this the day after Christmas, it arrived 9 days later. I was disappointed with the long ship-time, especially since I'm a Prime customer. Ultimately it was worth the wait. I have thought of Pioneer as a high-end tv ever since they started making the old crt rear projection tvs. Pioneer always seemed to be highly respected by industry analysts and reviewers, not only due to their ability to give the viewer a bright, detailed image, but to even make the best of an SD signal. This plasma unit hits on every cylinder. I love the black frame, the underneath speakers give it a small footprint and sound great, it accepts a 1080p signal, has a wealth of inputs, cablecard capability, TVGuide service built-in, stunningly beautiful HD picture. I've waited a long time to take the plunge on an HDTV, and it's been well worth the wait. I give it 5 stars, but if it was a 1080p set, it would be off the charts.
