Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Pioneer CDI200 Direct Cable for iBus Headunits and iPod (Black)Customer Review: good Summary: 4 Starsitem was sent on time and it works. although it only seems to work with the new versions of the ipod and not the first gens
Customer Review: Works great, is black (instead of dumb white). Summary: 5 StarsJust wish it was free like the 2009 Sony deck I just purchased for my GF's car...it was already attached to the deck and didn't cost an extra $20+
Customer Review: 12 Bucks?! Summary: 5 StarsThis cable was 35 dollars when I bought and I still don't regret paying what I did. It's a sturdy cable and hasn't let me down yet. I use it with the Pioneer DEH P3000IB and the only complaints I have are with the stereo's controls, not the cable. The sound is great and at it's current price the cable is definitely worth the money.
Customer Review: Pioneer CDI200 iPod Cable Summary: 5 StarsGreat addition for your Pioneer car stereo. directly links your iPod to the stereo so that it charges and plays your tunes while you drive. It also allows you to control your iPod through your Pioneer stereo. A MUST GET item if you are buying the Pioneer car stereo
Customer Review: Works flawlessly with AVH-P4000DVD and older gen 3 Ipod Summary: 5 StarsI have this installed on my Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD and it works flawlessly with my older 3rd generation Ipod (15GB, black and white screen, no video) as well as my Ipod Nano (4GB, color screen). I have used other Ipod controls for older Pioneer units and this one is by far the best Ipod control I've used so far.
Paired with the AVH-P4000DVD's beautiful touchscreen, the Ipod controls are very responsive and it mimics the real Ipod interface. The AVH-P4000DVD charges the Ipod when its docked and lists the same selections you would see as you browse your Ipod content (i.e. Playlists, Artists, Songs, Genres, etc..)
The only slight annoyance is that when you start your car, it takes over 30 seconds for the Ipod to start playing music. This is probably due to the fact that the Ipod has to turn on, then begin its communication with the headunit before it can play music.
Pros:
- Awesome interface w/ AVH-P4000DVD
- Plays older gen Ipod as well as Ipod Nano (I can't comment on the iPhone/iTouch since I don't own those)
- Mimic's real ipod interface
- Great sound quality (much better than using an AUX input or FM transmtter)
- Charges Ipod when docked
- Fast response time
- Shows full names of songs, artists, and albums
Cons:
- A little slow on startup
