I bought this about 1 month ago and installed it on my own. For the most part the install was really easy.. If you have a ford and are trying to do the steering wheel controls I advise against it. (its not the radio's fault tho).. The IPOD integration is AWESOME. It has a little wheel display on the touch screen and its really easy to pick your favorite songs. I am also VERY happy with the DVD player.. We did a little "doctoring" so we can watch DVD's while I'm driving (safely of course) and it has really made the long trips a lot more bearable.. My big thing now is listening to director commentaries on DVD (you dont really have to see the screen since people are mostly talking)... All in all for the price this cant be beat.. Pioneer has consistently good products and the fit and finish is first rate..Customer Review: Looks good until you turn it on

I have typically always had Pioneer head units in the past I was very impressed by the look and performance. This however did not meet my expectations at all. Audio quality was pretty good but thats about where the pros end. The menu interface reminds me of something from the days of DOS. Also I did not find the menu system to be very user friendly.
It does not have the ability to connect Subs and the Front/Rear Pre-Amp outs. Almost every feature you have to pay extra for, example, Bluetooth, remote, etc. I returned this and end up buying the Clarion MAX685BT. It has built in BT, comes with a remote, and SUB pre outs. For about the same price.

Great choice for DVD video player, awesome Pioneer quality, and it doesn't cost more than one of those BS Jensen or Dual or Phase Linear P'sOS.
Install is easy, (remember you need a separate power wire if you're in a GM vehicle) and you're in business.
Wish you could change the BG to an image or something, but I just turn the display off if I'm listening to music. Saves hours on the 100,000 hr lamp life... :) Also, it kinda sucks that it only reads dvd(-)r, instead of + and -.
Buy it if you already have a GPS. The 7000BT is a waste since it won't even play DVD's, and this thing is like 1/3 the price of the 9000BT.

I have had this unit for 3 weeks now, and I am very impressed with it. I moved up from a 7800mp, and I am so glad I did. The touchscreen is very responsive, and is visible in all lighting. The unit plays any format of music or video(even my ipod video podcasts).
Sound quality is awesome. The ipod control is very fast. The new ipod controller is a vast improvement from the one I had on my 7800mp. XM integration is nice. I recommend the GEX-20 so you get the 3 line display. I am considering adding on a rearview camera. The unit looks great in my Saturn Vue. I highly recommend this solid unit for it's price and functionality.

Acabo de comprar un pioneer AVH P4000 y desafortunadamente el equipo que me enviaron esta defectuoso, reproduce los mp3 por usb pero no se escuchan, los dvd es lo inverso, se escuchan pero no se ven y el remoto no funciona, la verdad nunca me habia pasado y con lo que pague de envio, espero que me lo devuelvan, pues es muy insresponsable de parte de un vendedor el proveer un articulo defectuoso, sabiendo lo que se paga de shiping.
Espero que me cambien el articulo, pues de no ser asi, revelare el nombre de la tienda, para que todos sepan de quien se trata.
