Where to start? A name brand (and good one at that) in-dash dvd player for under $400? I had a factory radio in an '05 Pathfinder and was tired of trying to find FM transmitters for my ipod, so I bit the bullet and took a chance on this with not many reviews at the time I got it. Well i really lucked out. This thing is great. Its customizable to go with your vehicle's lighting, it integrates seamlessly with ipods(note: you can even watch youtube videos on it with an ipod touch or iphone), dvd's look and play well (note: as the guy above said you can get around the video lock out whilst driving. You don't need a professional to do it though, just dig around on google a bit. Of course I would never do this and don't recommend it. I just ran across it while learning how to install it on my own). You can hook it up to extra monitors, hook in other devices, use bluetooth, setallite, or HD radio if you get the adapters. If you're like me and you have a Garmin and thus don't need navigation built in this is the perfect head unit.Customer Review: Very good value OEM replacement head unit

recently, I decided to upgrade the OEM radio/cd in my 2007 honda pilot with pioneer avh-p4000dvd, with audiovox wireless back-up camera, pioneer HD radio and pioneer iPod cable add-ons. took me about 12 hours in 2 days to remove the existing head unit and install the new equipment. used metra wiring and antenna harnesses for quick connections, and metra installation kits to fit the head unit. thanks to smart ideas posted in google, the pioneer head unit can play dvd while driving or parked. picture quality, either for dvd movies or for back-up camera, is really good and the sound production for dvd movies, radio, cd, mp3/wma, iPod, usb, is much better. the head unit has additional 1-video out, 2-dual channel pre-amp/speaker out, and 1-a/v input. the outputs provide audio/video for additional monitor for rear passengers. the inputs provide connection for video game console, camera or tv tuner. overall, it's really good package and recommended for OEM upgraders. excellent car audio/video head unit. thanks pioneer!Customer Review: Great Pioneer Product

I got this headunit last month and finally had it installed. It looks great in my Altima, the touch screen is real responsive and the menus are not complicated at all. I also purchased the CD1200 cable to use my ipod with it and thats works great as well the screen mimics the ipod menu.It doesn't come with the remote which kinda sucks but it's not that expensive i think it runs 20.00 if u don't buy the cable you could also use the usb it can handle up to 250gb also you can bypass the safety feature where it doesn't let you see video while the car is in motion simply take the wire that connects to the parking brake and connect it to ground and the other to a small switch that you can turn on and off twice this will trick the headunit into thinking the parking brake has been pulled touch ok on the caution/warning screen and your good to go not that i'm suggesting watching videos as your driving but your kids will enjoy a movie while your driving overall it's a good affordable pioneer product not many cons here.Customer Review: Very Nice Sound/Picture for the price!!

This is an excellent 2 DIN touch screen DVD for the price. I did the install myself, and saved a few bucks, it came out very well.
Pros: Excellent sound (very good upgrade to a stock unit)
Crisp DVD picture
Very responsive Touch screen
Included USB input cable, good thing for mounting a hard drive with a ton of Mp3s.
Cons: Interface is just ok, no frills, but still ok.
Cannot upload a background picture like other pioneer models
Doesnt have built in bluetooth. (you have to get the add on module)
Have to buy the extra input cable to hook up your ipod direct.
Overall this thing kicks some decent butt, install was straight forward in my 98 Buick Regal GS. Wish they would have integrated the blutooth at least, the ipod cable i dont mind buying. But great head unit for the price, great sound and picture, so it covers its bases. I like it.

I like this deck, but it lacks in a few areas. For the cost of this deck, a Tom Tom (or other GPS), the cost of the sirius radio adapter and the bluetoothe adapter your in quite a bit. For less than you would pay for all that you can buy the Pioneer 90BT.
I have to say I am satisfied with the deck itself, it does everything it says. However the bluetoothe adapter does not stand up to the Pioneer name that I expected. Sometimes it will conect my phone, sometimes it won't it's disapointing to say the least. Def. not worth the $130.00 I paid for it.
On another note Pioneer has a new line of decks out that are great! You can save pictures as a back drop where you can't with this 4000 unit, but then again i think i am going to keep what i have and when i get a new vehicle i plan on upgrading to one of the new units or to the 90BT that I just purchased for my girlfriends car.
