Man! I live in Marietta, GA - 17 miles from HDTV towers. I can get all HDTV channels with that included antenna!!!! Yes!!! that portable antenna!
I have a MacBook 1.83GHz Core Duo with only 512MB of ram running XP Professional.
I also have a lot of luck capturing any HDTV program....PERFECT! no freezing...no drop frames...wow...amazing. I use default setting and take those recorded clips on my USB thumb drive to play on my PS3 without any problem. Perfect HDTV qulity on my 40" TV with 1080P.
Well installing part is kind of slow. It took me almost 30 mins to get all software installed and updated. Analog channels are so bad but I really don't care 'coz I've got all my digital channels. Am I a lucky guy or what!

This thing works great. If you have trouble using the installation DVD, then copy all files to a memory card and install from there.
I work on the road and require a tv monitor to check our news show. Sometimes the analog signal on my 5 inch tv is snowy. I'll then plug this hd pro stick into the laptop and voila...with the antenna on the dash or on the roof with the magnetic mount it gets our Digital signal perfectly. You do need a powerful laptop though. I have one gig of memory and 1.6 processor speed. I'd say that is the bare minimum. You have to turn off other applications.
You can also record the programs as well. Overall, it does a great job in a very small package.

I got this back when I was using Win XP and a slow computer. I could see programs just fine, but it took around 10 seconds to change from one channel to another.
A few weeks back I got a new PC (Win 7 x64, Intel i7 8-core, 8G RAM) and when installing the software for the product I was given the option to install it for Windows Media Center, so I did it and it works flawlessly and super fast!
So I cannot blame the product of being slow back in the day with my old computer, because it was really my hardware what was slowing it down. A good surprise because I was thinking that I had to get a new tuner to work with my new computer. I was mistaken.

I have this setup with my new laptop that runs Vista premium. The device installs ok and it works with media center.
It's great for watching tv, but if you have scheduled recordings and you like to have your machine be in "standby" mode until it's time to record, you may be disappointed.
When coming out of standby, sometimes the tuner is recognized and at other times it is not. When it's not recognized, I have to unplug and then replug the device in order for it to be recognized.
Because of this, I have missed several recordings.
I contacted pinnacle support and their recommendation was not to use standby.

I bought this product and it works fine. My biggest problem with it
is that I lost the remote and when I contacted the company I was told that they do not sell a replacement remote. They told me that I can go to any store that sells their product and buy a replacement. The two stores I went to told me that they did not know why I was told that because they have never seen the remote alone.
Bottom line: if you loose the remote there is no way to replace it. That is why I am giving this product a one. If there was a way to give them a zero I would. Be ware of any product that does not offer replacement
parts. Especially a remote control.
