I needed this to provide dial tone to my Direct TV reciever. It works fine and the transmitter is not even plugged into the same circuit as the receiver. I put the transmitter in the kitchen and the receiver is in the bedroom. You can hear a little static if you use a phone but the receiver doesn't care. The updates have been fine.
