Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Philips PH-61153 4x1 Automatic Video Selector and RF ModulatorCustomer Review: Out-To-TV hook-up broke Summary: 1 StarsThis gadget was good for the last year, but because (as others noted) it doesn't really stand up in its holder it frequently fell over (it usually lay flat, but it slid around somewhat). I threw it away this weekend because the out-to-tv knob broke inside the unit, making it unusable. Not the most sturdily made unit - very plastic-y, and the knobs are not solidly attached (I opened the unit after it died to have a look).
Customer Review: works as advertised Summary: 5 Starsthis really cleaned up our setup, and it is easy to use. had to play around with the priority -- I have a few devices that come on automatically when I turn on the power to the entertainment center... and I wanted those to be low priority. The documentation sheet that came with it had a typo on the priority, so I was scratching my head for a while until I determined the true priority of the different ports (which was more logical than the documentation). price is right. it is possible to mix and match composite and s-video on different ports (I was not 100% sure on this until I tried it).
Customer Review: Very Convienient! Summary: 4 StarsThis is quite an amazing product. If you have more than one device to plug into the TV, plug them all into this. Then, once you turn one of them on, this will automatically change the input to what was turned on. So there is really no work whatsoever when switching between inputs. The only annoying thing is that unless it's on the floor, it tips over backwards really easily from the weight of the cables.
Customer Review: Works Great! Summary: 5 StarsProduct does what its supposed to do. Auto sensor feature is great, so any device you turn on it goes to that. Has priority levels so if 2 devices are turned on the one with greater priority takes precedence.
Customer Review: Great! Almost. Summary: 4 StarsWorks great! I'd give it 5 stars except for two minor flaws... (1) Won't stand up with cables attached, falls over, so I just shoved it behind my cable box and DVD player, out of sight. (2) Composite video input source (cable box) with S-video chosen as output from the 61153 is of minimal quality... "fuzzies" on sharp image transitions, also some color distortion. My system will accept as inputs both composite and S-video. Choosing the composite output from the 61153 got rid of the image distortion.
