I bought this switch for the kid's playroom, where I needed to hook up a number of devices to an older TV (which has only an RF input).
As a result of this switch, the kids have trouble-free access to either the Gamecube, V-smile, or DVD player. Whichever one they turn on, this switch automagically selects it as the video source.
This video selector is attractively designed. It also has handy audio/video inputs on the front.
For hooking up multiple components to an older TV, I can't imagine a better choice, especially at the price.

It switches automatically between any device that is turned on most recently. So if I'm watching the satelite and I turn on the Wii it will switch to the Wii automatically. Then if I turn the Wii off it will go back to the satelite. Very smart box. The only bad thing about it is it uses these little suction cups on the bottom of the unit to secure it to a surface. This might be ok but the suction cups pull out of the mounting on the bottom. So I ended up putting mine on its side in the back since we really dont need access to it to change the inputs.Customer Review: Good Unit

This is good value for the price. So far the auto video selector has worked well. The coax connection on my old Analog TV went bad and I was able to use this unit to hook up to the Composite video inputs on my PIP. I have a VCR/DVD unit, DVR, and my cable unit hooked up via S-Video cables with the sound via the component R/W inputs. The output to the TV is via the component Y/R/W and picture is good from all inputs although I still have an analog picture tube so I do not know if the signal to a digital set would be affected.Customer Review: Rating of the Phillips PH-61153 Automic Video Selector and RF Modulator

This Product--the Phillips PH-61153 Video Selector and RF Modulator is a superior product. The picture on the TV was great and all of the modern video and audio devices can be connected to it without a problem. It can be placed in the standing up position as well as the horizontal level. Does stand up much better vertically though than horizontally.

Exactly what we had hoped for -- works straight out of the box; uncomplicated (in fact, automatic) switching between devices. It works so well, our 3-year-old is able to put on a Sesame Street counting video by himself, then switch back to the Sesame Street TV show simply by turning off the DVD player. This allowed us to use an older, coax-only television in his room instead of wasting money on a newer TV that he simply would not appreciate (he's smart, but an AV-snob?!?)
Brilliant! Buy it without hesitation.
