I bought this piece of garbage which worked for 2 months then everything went wrong with it, alarm stopped working (I was Late for Work), clock slowed down & cd player did not work. Called the Company for service and was told that it would cost me the price of a new unit to replace it. the other problem was that I had to make several calls until I was able to get in touch with a person who could understand and talk the english language, I WILL NEVER Purchase anything that has the Philips name on it.Customer Review: "Sleep" function doesn't work with "buzzer" mode

In general I am happy with the product. Only thing I don't like is that you can't use the "sleep" function to fall asleep to a CD or radio if you want to wake to the buzzer. You have to have the product in "buzzer" mode to use that for the alarm. To listen to the CD or radio with the "sleep" function, you have to switch it to "CD" or "radio" mode, but then you can't use the "buzzer" mode to wake unless you switch it back to buzzer before falling asleep--which then shuts off the CD or radio.Customer Review: How difficult can the concept of a "battery backup" be?

So - the clock has a battery backup - fantastic... but wait a minute... that is only to allow the clock to remember what time it is when the power comes back on... while the power is off, you can't use the radio, cd player, or the ALARMS!!!
Is it really difficult to understand the concept of "if the power goes off, I still need to wake up at the proper time - so switch to buzzer mode and wake me up!!!"
With this fatal flaw, I cannot endorse this product.

After looking through a wide variety of cd players, (you would be surprsed at how few there are with a clock function,) I settled on this one because of it's design, and it's brand. I have never had any problems with Philips and like their products very much. The size is wonderful! The sound quality is very good too. The buttons are in the right places which make it easy to use -especially when setting the time. I just love the design of this clock/radio/cd player!Customer Review: too much static

I think this clock radio is adorable, a nice little package, but I'm returning mine because the radio reception is so weak that the static is really bothersome. Admittedly I live in an area (NYC) where it's hard to get a strong clear radio signal, but I just bought a no-name replacement from RadioShack that's giving me reception without the static, so there it is. If you live in an area with good reception, this is probably not such an issue.
