Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Philips AJ3600 Time Projection Clock RadioCustomer Review: very good for the money Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this clock for my girlfriend as a Christmas gift. We both like the way the alarm starts softly and gets louder.
She likes the projection feature, since her alarm clock sits on a chest of drawers where you cannot see the display unless you actually sit up and turn around. The projection is clear on the ceiling, so if you wake up, you just open your eyes and the time is right there.
We both like the dual alarm, except one alarm can only be the radio, and the other can only be the buzzer. It would be better if they both could be either.
Customer Review: Nice bedside clock/radio/projector. Summary: 5 Stars
Works great. Readily adjustable as to orientation and rotation of projected image. I tried using the wall(s) and eventually settled on projecting the time directly above the bed. Easily visible in the dark without being so bright as to bother the wife. I can glimpse the time with only one eye halfway open! :)
The only caution I have is true of many multi-feature clock radios - there are a lot of buttons and options that don't get used very much - if ever. But being a bit of a gadget guy I appreciate the versatility.
Customer Review: Neither running it on batteries or AC power is a good choice Summary: 3 Stars
If you run it on AC power, and you have also installed batteries, an AC power cut during the night will make the alarm clock to stop working instead of automatically switching to work on batteries. This is a serious problem for an alarm clock.
Running it on batteries, I wasn't able to flip the projected time. Also, as it is obvious, you cannot maintain the time visible all the time, neither in the projection surface or the LCD. You need to find and push the corresponding button to see the time for a few seconds.
Customer Review: Beware NO Backup Batter Summary: 2 Stars
Buyer beware...
The unit has a battery, but this battery is NOT for backup purposes, its only there
to run on battery. If you plug in the power adapter the battery is then useless and
will not keep the units clock set properly.
So if you are buying this expecting it to have battery backup capability, do not buy
it.
Otherwise I like the clock and it functions well. I was just expecting the battery
to be for backup purposes and its not.
Customer Review: Good Value Summary: 4 Stars
Overall it's a good clock radio for the money. It is just a basic clock radio, very compact and easy to use. The projection is easy to read and can be swiveled and reversed so it can be read from many positions. The display is also easy to read and can be set at a low light level, so it won't light-up the room at night. Easy to set-up even without reading instructions. Have owned it for about 6 weeks without any problems.
