Customer Review: Does NOT fit MOST 42" or larger TVs!!!

I was searching for a mount for my new 42" plasma TV, and found this on Amazon. Fortunately, I read the reviews and saw several complaints that this mount didn't fit certain TVs. I then went to the manufacturer's site, peerlessindustries.com, and looked up this model. Right on their product page for this item, the manufacturer warns that this model will NOT fit most TVs 42" and higher. So, unless you want to take a chance, don't get this if your TV is 42" or more. They really shouldn't sell a product named as a universal wall mount for 22"-49" TVs, then have a disclaimer on their site that it won't fit many 42"+ TVs!!! UPDATED 8/23/08- the disclaimer appears to be no longer on their site but I do not know if the product has actually been changed. If you search online you will find many complaints that the mount doesn't fit many 42"+ TVs, so be warned to be carefully when considering this.Customer Review: Quick, easy, adjustable, well made...just right

Got this to mount my new 32" Samsung. What can I say? I had it up in about 15 minutes. The longest part of the install was finding and marking the studs in the wall and making sure that it was level. The TV just hooks right on. It literally took me and my wife all of 30 seconds to mount the TV once the brackets had been installed. No fumbling with wrenches behind the TV! That's a first. I love that you can reposition the TV horizontally. Would be nice if you could adjust the vertical tilt as well. Makes it simple to center the screen somewhere where the studs are not centered. This also came in handy when I was installing the soundbar under it since just a little nudge on the LCD and everything was aligned perfectly. Seems very solid. This was exactly what I was looking for. A simple flat wall mount that didn't cost a fortune. I didn't want anything fancy that could tilt or lean or pivot. It worked perfect for me. I used this with a 32" Samsung LCD (LNS3251D - best 32" LCD, by the way.)
I installed it using two of the center holes both screwed into the same stud right in the center of the wall that I used. It felt very sturdy before hanging the TV and still very sturdy after tightening everything up. I couldn't be happier.
My only complaint is the same one a few others had but it's minor, the tool they supply to screw in the tightening screws. It's nice and long to reach behind the screen but too wide to do a full rotation. You have to either bend the tool or keep doing a half turn, pull it out, do a half turn, etc. etc. etc. But once it's done, it's done.

This is one of the easiest projects I've in a while. In under 30 minutes, I had my Olevia 27" wall mounted. This product comes with a wide range of screws, as well as spacers and washers. The instructions are clear, but you almost don't need them due to the simplicity of this wall mount. I just looked up my model TV, found the screw sizes needed for the brackets, mounted the wall plate and I was done in under 30 minutes!
The hardest part was tightening the bottom mounted security screws. You'll want to do this to keep the screen from sliding horizontally. Even without that, there are "ends" to the wall plate that keeps it from sliding off. The security screw tool that is included is just a little too wide. You'll find yourself scratching the wall! I managed to bend it enough, such that i could still use it without scratching the wall.

I used this mount to hang my 32" Samsung HDTV on a wall. It was simple to understand, simple to install, and came with absolutely everything you could possibly need in terms of hardware.
The unit was installed within 30 minutes of opening the box, and has performed perfectly. One note: Save yourself the headache of trying to tighten the set screws with the allen wrench per the sinstructions. Do one of two things: 1) "pre-tighten" the set screws as much as possible so that you have very little tightening to do once the unit is mounted, or 2) do what I did, and cut off the long portion of the provided allen wrench, and chuck it into your drill. Useing the drill to tighten the set screws turned a pains-taking 15 minute job into a breezy 30 second issue!
Great unit; great price. Highly recommend!
