Customer Review: Built like a tank, easy to install....

Add me to the list of pleased buyers of this unit. Before getting it, I was concerned about being able to adjust it horizontally, to center it between two windows. You see, the stud I mounted it to, was 5" off-center. As it turns out, the mount will NOT allow you to adjust the horizontal position, so buyers beware. The website gives good diagrams of the unit, and you find that the center of the mount plate is about 3.75" from the mount holes. So, even tho' the unit is about 1.25" off-center, it is not noticeable in our installation in the bedroom.
Now, installing this unit is a breeze. I couldn't believe how easy it was, even for one person. Just make sure you find the center of the stud prior to drilling the holes. I used a drill bit just slightly larger than recommended, and the screws were easier to tighten. I also added some rubber pads to the arm so it wouldn't mar the wall when folded back completely. This is a well-engineered product, and certainly worth the cost.

The product is of high quality metal. No crappy plastic parts to break. And, this is a big arm in that it extends out more than I need. I have noticed as well, that when it is fully out, the screen appears to be tilted. Though, not the case when it is pressed back against the wall. I might just be hallucinating, hard to say. And it could also just be a minor adjustment, more likely. Overall, it is a quality arm - does what it says it will do. I know that if you spend another couple hundred dollars you do get better articulating functions, a bit smoother in and out motion. Yet, if you are not going to be constantly moving the screen in and out and about, this arm does the trick. If you will be moving the screen a lot, and a couple hundred dollars doesn't break the piggy bank - then I'd probably go with the next level up in quality. With something like this, I like the product when I don't notice it and is just that. No big fireworks, but no big downers either.Customer Review: Beware, piece of the puzzle is missing

I'm giving it three because it wasn't clear just what I needed and I'm hoping the thing doesn't fall off the wall.
I bought this because at the top of the screen it says "Peerless Articulating Mount for 22"- 40" Flatscreen TV's" and I had purchased a 40" tv. Well, two weeks later, when someone is helping me hook it up we realize it doesn't fit. WTF??? Scouring Sony's website is no use. It doesn't give mounting information. Another look at the product specs on this page reveals "Product Description: The Articulating LCD Wall Arm supports 22" to 37" LCD screens." Once again, WTF??? Did I buy the right one or not? The Peerless website said it is compatible with this (Bravia kdl 40v2500)TV, right???? Nope, oh wait a second!!! It seems that there's an ADAPTER PLATE that I also need, in addition to this mount. No big deal, another $70. However, had I known this I would have bought it by now. Thanks so much for making it clear.

The Wall Mount itself is a good, well designed product. My complaint is that the manufacturer "claim" is that any 22 to 40 inch LCD can be mounted to it.
When the mounting holes in the back of my 40 inch Sony Bravis LCD did not match those of the supplied "adaptor plate", I called Peerless customer service to see how to proceed. After some time I was told that I would need to have an additional "adaptor plate", at an additrional cost of $115 plus tax and shipping. I asked the customer service rep to confirm that in addition to the $101 that I paid for the articulating arm, that I woulld now need to pay an additional $115 + for another adpator plate before I could use the product. She said that was correct.
So BEFORE you purchase, I suggest you call Peerless to see if your LCD fits on the "standard" adptor plate. I never considered Sony an "off brand"!

Bought this on Amazon for a 32" Samsung. Came on time, as described, and works great. It was easy to install, does the job, and is marvelously engineered. For example, if you don't install it straight (which I definitely recommend doing), it allows you to rotate the TV so it still looks straight. The arm includes slots for your wires so that you can bundle them and it doesn't look messy. The arm is installable in a lot of different places, and the amount of options you have as far as viewing angle goes is great. We put this up in front of our elliptical, but still can turn it 45 degrees to watch in bed. It feels sturdy and we haven't had any problems or reason to be concerned about it keeping the TV up on the wall. The only thing I would mention is that our arm was a little tight when we got it, but it was easy to loosen with an Allen wrench (not included).
