Sound is as good as higher name brands like monster, but that can't change very much for these cables. I hooked it up from my PS3 to surround sound and it works like a charm the only worry I have is the very inexpensive build quality. This one may be much less than others but it certainly will not last as long if it is moved around a lot. But if it is staying in one place for a long time then it's a great deal.Customer Review: Works

Cable seems like it's sturdy enough and it works on both my fiber TV set-top box and my DVD player. I even am running into a fiber optic switch box that takes two inputs and switches them between one output to the receiver and they all work just fine. I have not experienced any problems with them other than they don't fit as snugly as other cables I've used in the past... but they still work.Customer Review: Can't go cheap in Optical I guess.

Under the assumption all cables are created equal I bought four of these. At the price it could not be beat. After a move I noticed the PS3 was no longer getting sound. Changing the optical cables produced sound. Trying the cable on another item proved twice that the cable was indeed broken. Like clock work every month after each wire failed. This product works great if you plan on plugging a unit in and leaving it.
For me I take my headset systems every where, so I'm constantly unplugging and replugging it.
Eventually the plastic covering the optical signal broke off and got stuck in my optical switch and in my Xbox.
The quality is not good so I would stay away from this product.

Installed this item July 19 2007 and had no issues. I have it connected from my Blu Ray player to ONKYO sound system. Although the quality may not be as good as others mentioned it seems very acceptable to me - btw, I rarely touch the cable. This was a low risk investment that worked for me. Now I enjoy the sound.
Update: Dec 31 2008 - no issues to date!
