It works the way it's supposed to, but I have used it about 5 times with my MacBook Pro, recording music, and it's already starting to break on me. I have had to sometimes hold it into the mic input while recording, just to make sure that it doesn't cut in and out on me. Also, although it still works, the 3.5 mm male end has begun to be able to spin around. The sound quality is good, but I wouldn't buy this piece again. I guess the lesson here is: You get what you pay for.
